THE EDGE COVID-19 Tournament Protocols:

·        SPECTATORS ARE LIMITED TO 5 TOTAL PER TEAM PER DAY (This is done so we can have any spectators at all while still adhering to local COVID-19 guidelines)

·        Please register Covid Coordinator & 5 spectators using link by Noon Thursday so rosters can be created.  Any additions/corrections/changes please email Sharri Durdel at


·        Coaches, assistant coaches, and Covid Coordinators do not count as spectators. Only a maximum of three personnel allowed per team, (1 head coach 1 assistant coach and 1 coordinator, or 1 head coach and 2 coordinators, etc)

·        Please read The EDGE COVID-19 Waiver prior to arrival.


·        Streaming matches is NOT allowed. The Edge has partnered with FLUX to provide streaming for all matches. Cost is 10 dollars for the entire day.

·        Everyone must wear a mask at all times or provide an exemption waiver. You will be asked to leave if non-compliant.

·        Team 1 and 3 will go to playing court for temperature/symptom checks with their coach. Team 2 and 4 will got o hangout area to be temp/symptom checked.

·        Players may remove masks when on the court, but must have them on while on the side lines or while being on the work team. Coaches must wear masks at all times.

·        Entrances

o   All teams must enter through the rear gym entrance (down the hall way), and exit through the front gym doors (By court 2)

o   Upstairs area is reserved for IGNITE teams, officials, and staff with one way access and exit.

·        No assigned team camping area so must maintain social distancing. Backpacks must be taken to courts and placed behind spectators, while keeping fire exits and exit areas clear. Please note separate entrance and exit signs.


·        Teams must bring their own warm up balls, ball carts, electronic whistles, pens and pencils for scoring

·        Registered Spectators will check in with the on-site Covid Director to be temperature checked, sign waiver, pay entry fee, and receive wristband for entry.

·        Spectators must bring their own chairs, and may not stand along walls or net areas.

·        When a player’s match is over and no longer playing, spectators must exit the building quickly to allow for sanitization and Covid Coordinator to call next match spectators to be admitted.

·        Parents and spectators are not allowed in the camping area.

·        Incoming spectators must wait until the Covid Director gives the ok to enter the building.

3.3 Admission Fees

The OVR will permit tournament directors to charge an admission fee. The maximum admission fee for a regular season tournament is $5 for any individual 19 years or older. Tournaments held in large arenas or convention centers may have higher admission fees and requirements.

                   1st Match Spectators: 7:50am

                   Future matches: (9AM) or 10 min prior to the start of the match.


First Serve: 8:00am 

Details of pool play-For pools of 4 teams, the best of 3 sets will win matches. Each non-deciding set will be won by the team that first scores 25 points with a minimum 2-point advantage (no scoring cap). If there is a deciding set, it will be won by the team that first scores 15 points with a minimum 2-point advantage (no scoring cap).

Playoff procedures-All teams advance to play offs. All teams must be ranked within their pools based on match percentage first.

Officiating procedures- When a team is assigned to officiate, they required to supply the following: R2, two-line judges (for the entire match), one scorer, and one assistant scorer/Libero tracker/score board operator. Coaches (Or rostered adult) are required to be one of the 5 positions.

Awards- Tournament prizes 1st and 2nd place in the Gold bracket.



Cancellation policy- Teams will be notified via email regarding any changes in the tournament. If weather issues require tournament cancellation, Teams will be notified no later than 24 hours prior to tournament.



10.12 Team withdraws due to Covid 19 restrictions. Tournament or Site - REQUIRED CANCELLATION All team entry fees, in FULL, are required to be returned within 10 days. Team Cancellations: When a TEAM must withdraw from an event due to required quarantine/cancellation, the following policy will be enforced. NO REFUND of event entry fee will be required of the event host. Every effort must be made of the event host to replace the team withdrawing and refund of entry fee made possible. A PARTIAL REFUND may result from this effort. Many Tournament Directors have made a “reduced entry fee proposal” to entice a late entry. The difference in cost must be returned to the withdrawn team.



Note: OVR rankings appearing in the following listings are intended only as a helpful tool for tournament directors. They are subject to frequent change, including after the pools are set, and other factors may also be considered when determining pools and order of play.
