Coaching Opportunities in the OVR
First, welcome to the Ohio Valley Region! As one of the largest regional association of USA Volleyball with 2,132 girls' teams and 86 boys' teams registered last season (2021‑2022), there is always a need for high-quality coaches.
Finding a Club
Contacting club directors nearest you is the best way to find a coaching position.
- Juniors' Clubs and Teams provides a list of clubs and teams in the Ohio Valley Region. Team registrations begin after tryouts, so initially only clubs appear, each with the club director's contact information.
- Early in the season, while club directors are still registering, it may also be useful to look through last season's clubs, most of which will return.
Requirements
- Head coaches must be at least 18 years old, out of high school and have the following:
- Current member of USA Volleyball and the Ohio Valley Region
- Current background screen - Included in registration process
- IMPACT certified
- Concussion training certification
- SafeSport certified
- Watch a video on Sudden Cardiac Awareness every year - no certification
- Assistant coaches must have the following:
- Current member of USA Volleyball and the Ohio Valley Region
- Current background screen if 18 years old or older - Included in the registration process
- o Coaches under 18 years old cannot be head coaches or coach by themselves
- IMPACT certified
- Concussion training certification
- SafeSport certified
- Watch a video on Sudden Cardiac Awareness every year - no certification
