We are going to provide all athletes with a competition shirt, so there is no need to worry about uniforms being in on time or trying to pull together enough numbered shirts like the days of friendship scrimmages. All you need to do is provide t-shirt sizes on your AES roster! Coaches will receive their team's shirts at check in, along with their team's event bag tags.

We are going to have special guests and fun activities, including some incredibly fun TEAM BONDING activities and competitions with PRIZES and GIVEAWAYS!!

We will also be naming an OVR ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM! 

The All-tournament team will consist of:

1 athlete from each of these divisions; 10/11s, 12s, 13s

2 athletes from each of these divisions; 14s, 15s, 16s

3 athletes from each of these divisions; 17s, 18s

These athletes will receive a special plaque and be spotlighted on all OVR Social Media.

Another bonus.. POINTS ARE OPTIONAL! This is the only OVR/USAV sanctioned event to have optional points! We don't want anyone to pass on this incredible early season, learning and growing opportunity for fear of having their standings affected when the season is just getting started. However, if you have a great weekend and want the points, let us know, and they are yours! Think friendship scrimmage but WAAYYYYY better!

This tournament is designed to maximize playing opportunity and growth in the early season, and for that reason, this tournament will follow the standard OVR Regional Challenge 2 day format.

Saturday check in is at 7am, with play beginning at 8. Teams will be placed in 4 team pools. With those results, we will re-seed and re-pool teams into another 4 team pool. Teams will play the first 3 matches of their second pool on Saturday and then finish pool play on Sunday. Bracket play will follow. Each team is guaranteed a minimum of 7 matches over the 2 days.

We will NOT BE RUNNING WAVES. We want this event to provide teams with ample opportunity to learn, grow, bond and enjoy all the special activities.

All of this for the incredible price of $250! Yes, that's $250 total for both days and all bonus features!!

Work Team Procedures: Teams will have to supply a down official, 2 line judges, an official scorer, a Libero tracker and score flipper for the matches they are required to officiate. A coach must be present at the Scorer’s table. Please have the work team available court side at the coin toss for the next match. Each work team is to provide a whistle for the down official as well as pens and pencils for score table duties. At the completion of the match, please remove all pens and pencils. Be sure the coaches pickup their lineup sheets. Teams are responsible for clean-up of their bench area. The court official and /or Tournament assistants will be responsible for any match papers.

Event Policy

Tournament entry requires registration through AES beginning June 17, 2023. Team acceptance is based on AES entry and received entry fee. Team withdrawal causes loss of the entry fee unless a fully paid replacement team is entered.

Team entry fees ($250) are due by November 25, 2023 and can be paid with a check or through AES. If paying through AES, there will be a non-refundable 3% processing fee added to the entry fee. Tournament entry fees paid with a check will be deposited two weeks before the tournament. If by check, please send a separate check for each OVR tournament that you have teams entered. Not a separate check per team, just per event.

Spectator admission: $10 per day for all individuals 19 years and older. Admission tickets can be purchased either the day of the tournament or prior to the tournament. Cedar Point will activate the ticket link below 1 week prior to the event to allow folks to purchase tickets prior to arrival. Spectators that pre-purchase a ticket will be looking for the fast lane entry to avoid possible longer wait lines.

Roster Disclaimer

This event will utilize AES rosters. Check in will be at 7am on Saturday. Coaches will verify and sign their rosters and receive their team's bag tags and  competition shirts at this time. If a change needs to be made to the roster, the coach must provide an updated roster when they check-in Saturday. Roster changes cannot be made once a team starts their first match. The use of AES providing the schedule means a tournament handout to coaches is not necessary.
