Below are the Columbus Convention Center site rules and regulations. Violations of the rules and regulations will result in disqualification and elimination from the event of the offending teams and/or individuals, including parents.

1. Players are allowed to bring water bottles and snacks in their gym bag.
2. No passing volleyballs in hallways or concessions areas. Warm-up time will be provided on the court before the match.
3. No smoking in gym areas or hallways.
4. There are no shower facilities.
5. Put all trash in containers provided by the Convention Center staff.

Tournament Information

As of 1/10/2022, the only mandate is all non-active participants (spectators, staff, off teams) must wear masks coving nose and mouth unless eating.

You must be properly wearing a mask in order to enter the playing halls.  You must bring your own masks.  You must also bring your own chairs.  Chairs are not provided.

 

 No admission charge in Columbus venue.

 

Club Directors will check their teams in online via AES starting Wednesday AM.

After your first three team pool finishes on Saturday, you will be advanced into a second three team pool as quickly as we can print the scoresheets.  All 2nd place teams in each pool are ranked by sets and point % against the other 2nd place teams in your division.  Then we will advance you by hand into AES.  Until then, AES will say: "No Future Matches".  Do not believe it.  Do not leave. You will play in another pool on Saturday.  We have to wait until all pools in a division are completed in order to know who finishes in 2nd and what their record is.

We are planning on two waves with three teams pools in each.  First wave will play three matches within their three team pool.  Teams will immediately be reseeded into a second three team pool and play their three matches.  All Second Place teams from the first pools must be ranked by sets and point percentage before they can be advanced into their second pool.  Do not leave early.  All teams will be done for the day.

Second wave will play in three team pools.  Immediately repool and play a second three team pool.  All Second Place teams from the first pools must be ranked by sets and point percentage before they can be advanced into their second pool.  Do not leave early. Then be done for the day.

We will be using waves for this event.  Here the format:

8 am wave:

16 National

3:00 Wave:
17 National
17 American

Starting at 8 am on Sunday, the teams from the first wave on Saturday will play in another three team pool for final placement in the event.  There will not be any brackets unless there are four teams in a group..

Juniors’ Regular-Season Tournaments

10.12 Team withdraws due to Covid 19 restrictions.

Tournament or Site - REQUIRED CANCELLATION

All team entry fees, in FULL, are required to be returned within 10

days.

Team Cancellations: When a TEAM must withdraw from an event due to

required quarantine/cancellation, the following policy will be

enforced.

NO REFUND of event entry fee will be required of the event host. Every

effort must be made of the event host to replace the team withdrawing

and refund of entry fee made possible.

A PARTIAL REFUND may result from this effort. Many Tournament Directors

have made a “reduced entry fee proposal” to entice a late entry. The

difference in cost must be returned to the withdrawn team.

I use the previous year's next younger age division. So to seed the 17s division this year, I use results from the 16s division events from last year. Etc.

The courts will be in Hall B, C & D which are towards the North end of the Convention Center.

Checks must be received by January 1, 2022. Checks are not deposited until the week of the event. If you are entering teams in multiple events, you need to send a separate check per event.

There is a State of Ohio law that requires all coaches and administrators of juniors sports teams to have concussion certifications. Here is a link to the NFHS course in Concussion in Sports

Non-OVR teams need to submit a tournament entry form with their entry fee checks.
