Below are the Columbus Convention Center site rules and regulations. Violations of the rules and regulations will result in disqualification and elimination from the event of the offending teams and/or individuals, including parents.

1. No coolers or food may be brought into the building by players or parents. (The center has two concession areas.)
2. No passing volleyballs in hallways or concessions areas. Warm-up time will be provided on the court before the match.
3. No smoking in gym areas or hallways.
4. Junior Championships: All teams are to camp in the concourse (and not to block any doors!). Do not camp in exhibit halls D, E, and F, where the tournament is running.
5. There are no shower facilities.
6. Keep all chairs far away from any court or playable areas. (Parents may bring their own chairs.)
7. Only certified vendors may sell clothing, shirts, shoes, etc. with approval from the Commissioner.
8. Put all trash in containers provided by the Convention Center staff.

Matches start at 8 am both Saturday and Sunday.

Practice courts may be rented on Friday evening between 6 and 9 pm
at $25 per hour.  If you are interested, please send me a note

Please be aware that the OVR Girls HP tryouts will be taking place
during that same time.

The 13 National Division has been reduced
to 16 teams.  So it will play a single day tournament on Saturday,
April 11th only. Please notify your parents and players. 


The women's teams from The Ohio State
University and Xavier University will play a scrimmage at the
convention center at approximately 6:30 pm Saturday evening. 
Everyone is invited to stay around and watch.

New This Year

The Ohio Valley Region will be allocated 70 hotel rooms near
the New Orleans Convention Center.  We will in turn allocate 10
rooms to each of the winning teams in each of the 7 age divisions
from the OVR Bid Tournament.  These are not free rooms but they
should be closer to the playing site than you would be able to
reserve yourselves.

Ohio Valley Region Bids:

deposited until the weekend of the event.  

There isn't any admission charge to attend.  Come enjoy the
volleyball.

Chairs for spectators will not be provided around the courts.

This tournament used to allocate the Ohio Valley Region's National
and American bids to the USAV Girls Junior National Championships
to be hosted by New Orleans on June 22 through July 3.  Entry into
this event is restricted to only OVR registered teams.

All OVR teams registered in the National Divisions are eligible to
enter.  We will do our best to accept all teams that register by
February 28th.  But space and court restrictions may force use to
a limited number in particular divisions.  We will know more after
the registration period ends on 2/28/2015.

There will also be Bid Play-In Tournaments in March for 18 and 12
Regional and 17 through 13 American teams.  The top 2 and maybe as
many as 4 teams from each of these tournaments will also be
invited to attend the OVR Bid Tournament.

Since there isn't an 11 National Division, any 11 Regional team
must play in the 12s Play-In Tournament.  The same is true for
10s.

In the Bid Tournament, divisions with 16 or fewer teams entered
will be run in a single day (either Saturday or Sunday depending
upon what works best for the event).  Divisions with 17 or more
teams entered will be run across both Saturday and Sunday.  In the
two day events teams typically will play 4 matches on Saturday and
at least 3 but as many as 5 matches on Sunday.

More information on playing formats will be available after the
registration period ends and we know how many teams are in each
division.

Seeding for the OVR Bid Tournament will use an average of up to
the four best tournament results for each team.  This will form a
basis of 50% of the seeding information.  The club
directors/coaches of the teams will also vote on their recommended
seedings.  This will be the other 50% of the seeding.  The
combination of these two values will determine the final seeding
for the event.

Once the seeding is completed, teams from the same club will not
be switched out of a pool to avoid playing another team from the
same club in the first round of pools.

Since this is a qualifying event for the USAV girls National
Championships, we will not be using a 2 meter step-in line for the
12s division.

There is a State of Ohio law that requires all coaches and
administrators of juniors sports teams to have concussion
