  • From I-71 to I-270 East (north of Columbus)

    • Exit Rt. 3 North (State Street; Westerville exit).
    • Just past Schlotzky's Deli turn right on Electric.
    • Turn left on Crescent, which dead ends into the school property.
    • Turn right. The parking lot is on the left.

  • From I-270

    • Exit Rt. 3 north (State Street; Westerville exit).
    • Turn Right onto Schrock Rd.
    • Turn Left onto Otterbein Ave.
    • Turn Left onto Illinois Ave to access gym parking lot.
    • Westerville is located NE of the I-270 outer belt.

Tournament Information

a. coaches meeting time = 8AM in the hall between the main &
auxiliary gyms

b. starting time = 8:30AM

c. details of pool play = 2 courts of 4 teams for each age group;
first match of the day has 15 minute warm up (7 min shared, 4 min
serving team, 4 min receiving team); 10 minute warm ups for all
other matches (2 min shared, 4 min serving team, 4 min receiving
team). Shared serving warm up is not permitted.  
- Teams are required to provide: 1 second referee, 2 line
officials, 1 scorer, 1 libero tracker, 1 score “flipper”
- Teams who do not show up for their scheduled officiating during
pool play will be fined $50.


d. playoff procedures = All teams will advance to playoffs (top 2
teams from each pool to Gold, then remaining teams to Silver). 
The lowest seeded team in each division that is not playing the
1st round of playoffs will officiate the 1st playoff match.  When
semifinal rounds are played simultaneously on 2 different courts,
the last losing team in the semifinals will stay to provide
support for the final match.  If the semifinal matches end at the
same time or nearly the same time, the losing team that is closest
to the tournament site will stay to provide support for the final
match.  Teams who do not show up for their scheduled officiating
during playoffs will be fined $100. 

e. officiating procedures = A total of 6 registered, certified
USAV referees who have clear background screens will be hired to
work this event.  A head referee will be designated for each
tournament. 

f. site-specific rules and information = Keep all coolers in cars.
Coolers are prohibited in and outside facilities hosting
OVR-sanctioned events. Setting up tables and/or cooking by teams
or their support staff, fans, coaches, or parents are prohibited
at OVR-sanctioned events.
Teams are permitted to bring food into the cafeteria/commons area
ONLY.  This will be site for teams to set up camp.  No camping
will be permitted in the school halls or in the area behind the
curtain of the aux gym.  
If a club does not comply amicably with a tournament director's or
site director's request, an Incident Report will be sent to Bob
Price, OVR Commissioner, resulting in up to a $250 fine and a
team/club suspension.

g. awards = 1st and 2nd place teams w/ coaches in Gold levels 

h. availability of a concessions = a full concession stand will be
available from 9AM until 5PM (or later if worker volunteers are
available).   

i. cancellation policy = I will cancel a tournament if we have
fewer than 4 teams register.  A team who cancels after the entry
deadline of 14 days prior to the tournament date will forfeit
their entry fee.  A team canceling prior to the entry deadline
does NOT forfeit their entry fee if a replacement is found.  A
team canceling from one tournament to enter a different tournament
will forfeit their entry fee.  If a team requests and receives
entry into a tournament but does not pay its entry fee, the team’s
club will be fined the amount of the entry fee.
