Below are the Columbus Convention Center site rules and regulations. Violations of the rules and regulations will result in disqualification and elimination from the event of the offending teams and/or individuals, including parents.

1. No coolers or food may be brought into the building by players or parents. (The center has two concession areas.)
2. No passing volleyballs in hallways or concessions areas. Warm-up time will be provided on the court before the match.
3. No smoking in gym areas or hallways.
4. Junior Championships: All teams are to camp in the concourse (and not to block any doors!). Do not camp in exhibit halls D, E, and F, where the tournament is running.
5. There are no shower facilities.
6. Keep all chairs far away from any court or playable areas. (Parents may bring their own chairs.)
7. Only certified vendors may sell clothing, shirts, shoes, etc. with approval from the Commissioner.
8. Put all trash in containers provided by the Convention Center staff.

  • FYI… The Cap City Marathon Half Marathon will be taking place on Saturday, May 4. Plan travel, etc., accordingly. There will be street closings. Marathon Info

    The Cap City Half Marathon is taking place downtown on Saturday, May 4th. The GCCC has been directed by the Columbus Police Department to increase their security presence on the exterior of the facility from 6:00am-12:00pm. They will be adding these additional guards at the Convention Center’s expense. These guards will be informing any patron who attempts to leave a cooler/bag/chair/etc outside the facility that they need to return it to their vehicle or hotel room and if they still leave it, it will be confiscated by the Columbus Police Department and not returned.

    Capital City Half Marathon and 5K Saturday The Capital City Half Marathon and 5K will take place Saturday, May 4, beginning at 8 a.m. Street closures will be in place in preparation for this very large event and rolling closures will be in place along the routes. Please plan for delays, consider alternate routes and watch for closures and pedestrian traffic. Participants and guests are encouraged to carpool or use COTA to reduce congestion and parking delays.

    Road Closures: In preparation for the event, the following roads will be closed to through-traffic from Friday evening, May 3 to mid-day Saturday May 4:

    • S. High Street from Rich Street to State Street (Closed 7 p.m. Friday to 2 p.m. Saturday)
    • E. Town Street from S. Third Street to the Columbus Commons Garage (Closed 5 p.m. Friday to 2 p.m. Saturday)
    • E. State Street from S. High Street to S. Third Street (Closed 7 p.m. Friday to 2 p.m. Saturday)
    • S. Front Street from W. Rich Street to W. Broad Street to (Closed 7 p.m. Friday to 11 a.m. Saturday)

      Expect rolling closures along following routes, especially at the beginning of each race.
