Tournament Information
Teams may enter SPIRIT VBC tournaments by sending an entry fee ($160) Team 11 digit ID#, and team contact name and address. Enclose a check for $160 made payable to SPIRIT VBC ADDRESS: 984 SALEM AVE ELYRIA OH 44035 Team rosters will be downloaded from the OVR website the week of the tournament. Please make sure your coach is IMPACT certified. Doors open 7:30 AM A coaches´ meeting at 8:00 AM on court 1 The tournament starts at 8:30 AM sharp. Pool play is the best of three sets with rally scoring. Each non-deciding set will be to 25 points with a minimum two-point advantage (no scoring cap.) The deciding set, if needed, will be to 15 points with a minimum two point advantage (no scoring cap.) Prior to each team’s first match of the day, Warm-ups are to consist of 15 minutes (7 minutes shared, no hitting across net), 4 minutes serving team, 4 minutes receiving team. After each team’s first match, the mandatory warm-up time between all matches is will be 10 minutes, Consisting of 2 minutes of shared ball handling on-court, 4 minutes full-court for the serving team, and 4 minutes full-court for the receiving team. 12 TEAM (3 COURTS) TOURNAMENT PROCEDURE http://www.ovr.org/juniors/tournament_packet/JTP_Tournament_Format_12.pdf Match order: [Team in () refs] Match 1 1 vs. 3 (2) Match 2 2 vs. 4 (1) Match 3 1 vs. 4 (3) Match 4 2 vs. 3 (1) Match 5 3 vs. 4 (2) Match 6 1 vs. 2 (4) Teams will officiate according to the above schedule for pool play. The lowest seeded team in each division not playing the first round of the playoffs will officiate the first playoff match. Tournament play will be the best of three sets. After the first round of the playoffs, all losing teams, before leaving, must stay and officiate the next match. A concession stand will be available at the tournament site. Coffee, Muffins, Fruits, Donuts CHIPOTLE(Pre order); Home made-Sloppy Joe/Pasta Salad -Hot Dogs Gatorade/Water/Pop etc Assorted candies and popcorn etc. At a very reasonable prices NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINK IS ALLOWED IN THE BUILDING. (OVR rule sanctioned events) ALL COOLERS (BIG OR SMALL) HAS TO STAY IN THE CAR. Coolers found outside the building, will be tossed in the trash bin Tournament checks will be deposited January 15, 2011. Awards to 1st and 2nd place teams. Team/Tournament Cancellation: Per OVR regulations- A team canceling after the entry deadline, 14 days prior to the tournament date, will forfeit its entry fee. A team canceling prior to the entry deadline does not forfeit its full entry fee if a replacement is found. A team canceling from this tournament to enter a different tournament will forfeit its entry fee. If for any reason the tournament is cancelled, a notice will be displayed on the OVR Junior Tournament list. Club directors and/or coaches and officials will be contacted (phone, email) as soon as possible. Entry fees will be returned within 3 days of the cancellation.
