Checks should be received by January 6th, 2023. CVC reserves the right to withdraw any team if entry fee is not received by 1/6/23. 

Checks will be cashed January 15th.

 

  Team rosters will be downloaded from the OVR website the week of the tournament. Please ensure your coach is IMPACT, Concussion & Safesport certified and up to date.

 

General Facility Guidelines & Rules

 

• Doors of Lost Nation West open at 7am. 
• Spectator fee is $5 per person (19 and over)
• Coaches/Officials meeting  at 7:30 am. Coaches must attend to verify & sign their roster. Officials are required to be present. 
• Tournament starts promptly at 8:00 am. 
• Volleyballs are not provided.
• NO CHAIRS permitted in gym. There is bleacher seating available.  
• Designated lunch room will be provided. Please clean your area prior to leaving. 
• Teams failing to perform their officiating duties will be reported to the OVR for possible sanctions.
• Ball Handling off courts is not permitted. The use of any ball outside of the gym is PROHIBITED while inside the building. 
• A full service concession stand will be available. 
• NO outside Food or Coolers will be permitted within the facility. Keep all coolers in cars.
• FOR SAFETY & INSURANCE PURPOSES: the court & team sideline zones are restricted to players, officials and OVR/USVA registered individuals.

·         All teams advance to playoffs. All teams must be ranked within their pools based on match percentage first. For any ties, use the tie-breaking procedure below. 

·        Seeding Tie-breaking: Since all teams advance to playoffs, ties will not be decided by playing a set. 

o   1. If 2 teams from the same pool are tied, their head-to-head match determines their order of finish. 

o   2. If 3 teams from the same pool are tied after match and set % and point differential have been calculated, a coin flip will determine their order of finish.

• Pool play is the best of three sets with rally scoring. Each non-deciding set will be to 25 points with a minimum two-point advantage (no scoring cap.) The deciding set, if needed, will be to 15 points with a minimum two-point advantage (no scoring cap.) 
• Only USAV members may be in the playing area to assist with warm-ups. All warm-ups will use the 2-4-4 format; 2-minutes shared court, 4-minutes Serving Team, 4-minutes Serve Receiving team. 
• All teams advance. All teams must be ranked within their pools based on match percentage first. For any ties, use the tie-breaking procedure below. All first-place and second-place teams to the Gold playoffs. All third-place and fourth-place teams to the Silver playoffs. Playoff positions on the tournament brackets will be based on pool finish to avoid teams from the same pool playing each other in the first round.
• Medals will be awarded to the first place team in the Gold Bracket. 

 

Team/Tournament Cancellation:

• A team canceling after the entry deadline, fourteen [14] days prior to the tournament date, will forfeit its entry fee.
• A team canceling prior to the entry deadline does not forfeit its full entry fee if a paying replacement is found at cost or discounted price. A team canceling from this tournament to enter a different tournament will forfeit its entry fee in its entirety.

  

Inclement Weather or Tournament Cancellation:

• If Avon is under a Level 3 Emergency, the tournament will be canceled. 
• For any reason, the tournament is canceled, a notice will be displayed at the OVR Junior Tournament list. Club directors and/or coaches and officials will be contacted (phone, email) as soon as possible. 
• Entry fees will be returned within a timely manner after a cancellation.
