Coaches and Players who are not complete with their registration will not be permitted to participate in OVR Sanctioned events.

Below is pertinent information for the weekend. 
 
Admission: $10/day for all individuals 

Pre-Tournament Admission Ticket Link: Spring Thaw via ThunderTix. Cedar Point highly recommends purchasing tickets on-line. Tickets can be purchased at the facility however, but entrance into the facility will be much slower.  This link will also provide purchasing options for gear that will be available at the event.

Seating is provided. Please do not bring chairs.

Doors opens at 7:00 a.m. Saturday and Sunday for coaches, athletes and spectators.

There will not be a coach’s meeting. Coaches will be required to verify rosters as they check-in on Saturday. Any roster updates can be made at that time only.  Roster changes cannot be made after the check-in.

Saturday, coaches will check-in beginning at 7 a.m. at a table as they enter Cedar Point Sports Center. At the check-in table, coaches will: be checked off the pass list, verify their team’s roster or submit an updated team roster, if necessary. Wristbands for coaches listed on the roster will be given to the coach who verifies the roster at check-in. The wristband is good for Saturday and Sunday, April 23 and 24. Do not remove the wristband after completion of play on Saturday. The same coach’s wristband will be needed for entrance on Sunday. There will not be a Sunday check-in.

Saturday: Pool Play begins immediately following the National Anthem at 8:00 a.m.

Work Teams will have to supply a down official, two line judges, an official scorer, a Libero tracker and score flipper for the matches they are required to officiate. A coach must be present at the scorers' table. Please have the work team available court side at the coin toss for the next match. Please provide a whistle for the down official, pens and pencils for score table duties. Please remind all members of the work crew, including the coach, that there will be no electronic devices allowed at the table. Head officials (R1) reserve the right to penalize a team for having electronic devices, including earbuds, in use at the scorers’ table.

At the completion of the match, please remove all pens and pencils. Be sure the coaches pickup their lineup sheets. Teams are responsible for clean-up of their bench area. The court official and /or Tournament assistants will be responsible for any match papers/score sheets.

WARM-UPS

Only USAV members may be in the playing area to assist with warm-ups.

 

Prior to each team's first match of the day, junior’s boys'/girls' mandatory warm-ups are to consist of 15 minutes (7 minutes shared, no hitting across net), 4 minutes serving team, 4 minutes receiving team. After each team's first match, the mandatory warm-up time between all matches is will be 10 minutes, consisting of 2 minutes of shared ball handling on-court, 4 minutes full-court for the serving team, and 4 minutes full-court for the receiving team.

 

During each team's full-court warm-up segment, the opposing team must be in their bench area and not interfere with the team using the court. However, for purposes of risk management, the off team could offer to help with retrieving balls when the on team is hitting provided the "on-team" coach agrees.

 

Teams that wish to practice serving during the warm-ups may ask to be informed when they have one minute (or more/less) remaining in their 4-minute period. Shared serving between the two teams is not permitted.

 

This applies to all matches. The time between sets is 3 minutes. Teams may warm up with balls on their respective courts or free zone during the 3-minute set intervals. Spiking at the net is not permitted. Balls may not be used for warm-ups during time-outs. 

 

CAMPING 

Player’s bags and equipment are not allowed in the competition area nor will teams be allowed to camp in the competition area. Camping areas will be aavailable on the second story track.  Bags and paraphanalia should not be kept in the competition area.

 

The camping area is restricted to players, officials and OVR/USVA registered individuals. Ball handling and horse play in the camping area is strictly prohibited.

 

CONCESSIONS

Concession stands with a variety of healthy foods is available at the tournament arena.

 

NO OUTSIDE FOOD IS ALLOWED. 

 

Keep all coolers in cars. Coolers are prohibited in and outside facilities hosting OVR-sanctioned events. 

 

Setting up tables and/or cooking by teams or their support staff, fans, coaches, or parents are prohibited at OVR sanctioned events.

 

NO TEAM BUFFETS.  

 

SEATING

Bleachers are located on all courts. NO CHAIRS are allowed to be placed in front of the courts.  

 

CANCELLATIONS

Team/Tournament Cancellation: A team canceling after the entry deadline will forfeit its entry fee. A team canceling prior to the entry deadline does not forfeit its full entry fee if a replacement is found. A team canceling from this tournament to enter a different tournament will forfeit its entry fee.

 

If Erie County is under a level 3 snow emergency, the tournament will be cancelled.  For any reason the tournament is canceled, a notice will be displayed at the OVR Junior Tournament List. Club directors and/or coaches and officials will be contacted via email as soon as possible. Entry fees will be returned.
