Tournament Information

Thank you for your interest in the Homestretch Sportswear Volleyball Classic. 

 

PLEASE MAKE TOURNAMENT CHECKS FOR ENTRY FEE PAYABLE TO ST. HENRY HIGH SCHOOL.

 

Team rosters will be downloaded from the OVR website the week of thetournament. 

 

Please make sure your coach is IMPACT, Safesport, and Concussion certified.

Coaches who have not completed certifications will not be allowed to coach per OVR Rules.

 

ALL OHIO COVID-19 REGULATIONS WILL BE FOLLOWED AND ADHERED TO DURING THIS TOURNAMENT IF NECESSARY AT THE TIME. 

 

Doors open at 7:30am.  The coaches' meeting at 8:00 AM in the high school commons (if you are in the Community Center, please make your way over to the other building before 8:00AM).  Parking should be behind the high school.  You must enter the back door of the high school on the North side.

 

The tournament starts at 8:30 AM sharp at St. Henry High School (St. Henry, Ohio).

Two courts 1 and 2 will be located in the Community center which is just to the East of the high school  court 3 will be in the high school  court 4 will be in the middle school gym

There will be a $3 charge for all spectators.

Pool play is the best of three sets with rally scoring.

We will be operating a 16-team tournament. Each non-deciding set will be to 25 points with a minimum two-point advantage (no scoring cap). The deciding set, if needed will be to 15 points with a minimum two point advantage (no scoring cap).  1st and second place teams will go to gold  All third place teams will go to silver and All 4th place teams will go to bronze

 

 

For the remaining OVR regular season tournaments in April and May,
Tournament Directors have the choice to invert the teams (1 team is 4, 2
team is 3, 3 team is 2, and 4 team is 1) within the 4-team pools or just
use the regular 4-team alignment pool format. This alternative option
doesn't change anything but the team arrangement after the pools have
been created.

 

All warm-ups will use the 2-4-4 format; 2-minutes shared court, 4-minutes Serving Team, 4-minutes Receiving team.  Teams may request the referee to tell them when to serve, usually one minute.

 

Tee Shirts will be awarded for Gold Division Winners and a prize will also be awarded to the Runners-up

Coolers and food: Keep all coolers in cars. Coolers (including soft-sided) are prohibited in and outside facilities hosting OVR-sanctioned events. Setting up tables and/or cooking by teams or their support staff, fans, coaches, or parents are PROHIBITED at OVR-sanctioned events. Tournament directors and site managers do not have the discretion to grant permission.

 

No outside food will be permitted in the playing facility!!! Please do not bring in food from local eateries. 

A full concession will be provided at the tournament site: chicken/beef sandwiches, pizza, hot dogs, pop, water, Gatorade, fruit, candy, chips, baked goods, etc..

 

If a club does not comply amicably with a tournament director's or site director's request, an Incident Report will be sent to Bob Price, OVR Commissioner, resulting in

up to a $250 fine and a team/club suspension.

 

 

 

All seating for spectators will be limited to the bleacher areas.

Chairs may NOT be brought by spectators! Please talk to the tournament director if you have a special circumstance.

 

Parking will be available in the front and back of St. Henry High School. Please do not park on the west side of the school as the doors will not be opened for the public, and you will have to walk around the building. There is also street parking, but it is limited and could require a bit of walking.

 

Team/Tournament cancellation:  Per OVR regulations- a team canceling after the entry deadline, 14 days prior to the tournament date, will forfeit its entry fee. 

 

If for any reason the tournament is canceled, a notice will be displayed at the OVR Junior Tournament list.  Club directors and/or coaches and officials will be contacted (phone, email) as soon as possible.  Entry fees will be returned.
