• From Columbus, Mansfield & Wooster:

  • US 30 East to State Route 21 North. State Route 21 north through downtown Massillon to the third traffic light, which is Cherry Street. Turn right on Cherry Street. The Massillon Recreation Center will be on your right.

• From Cleveland:

  • I-77 south to Fairlawn and State Route 21 south. State Route 21 south approximately 20 miles to Massillon. Cherry Street is the second traffic light.Turn left on Cherry Street. The Massillon Recreation Center will be on your right.

• From Youngstown:

  • I-76 west through Akron to State Route 21 south. State Route 21 south approximately 14 miles to Massillon. Cherry Street is the second traffic light. Turn left on Cherry Street. The Massillon Recreation Center will be on your right.

• From Dover, New Philadelphia and Marietta:

  1. I-77 north to Canton and US 30 west. US 30 west to State Route 21 north. State Route 21 north through downtown Massillon to the third traffic light, which is Cherry Street. Turn right on Cherry Street. The Massillon Recreation Center will be on your right.

  2. State Route 21 north through Strasburg and Navarre to Massillon. Continue on State Route 21 north through downtown Massillon to the third traffic light, which is Cherry Street. Turn right on Cherry Street. The Massillon Recreation Center will be on your right.

Tournament Information

Thank you for your interest in our tournaments. Team rosters will be downloaded from the OVR website the week of the tournament. Please make sure your coach is IMPACT certified. A coaches meeting at 7:30AM at the playing site will take place prior to the start of the tournament. The tournament starts at 8:00AM sharp.

The format for the challenge will be:

Pool play format:
4 courts, 6 referees each day, 16 teams, 60 matches
4 pools of 4 teams
For pools of 4 teams, the best of 3 sets will win matches. Each non-deciding set will be won by the team that first scores 25 points with a minimum 2-point advantage (no scoring cap). If there is a deciding set, it will be won by the team that first scores 15 points with a minimum 2-point advantage (no scoring cap). Change sides when a team earns 8 points. A point will be scored on each rally. If the receiving team wins the rally, they score a point and gain the serve.

First Round
Seeding procedure:
For the first round, teams from the same club, regardless of seed, should not be placed in the same pool. Tournament format: All teams advance. All teams must be ranked within their pools based on match percentage first. For any ties, use the tie-breaking procedure below. Top two teams in Pool AA and BB play in Gold tournament. Third and fourth place teams in Pool AA and BB play in Silver tournament. Top two teams in Pool CC and DD play in Bronze tournament. Third and fourth place teams in Pool CC and DD play in Copper tournament. Awards to first, second and both third places in Gold Division.

Tie-breaking: Since all teams advance to playoffs, ties will not be decided by playing a set.
1. If 2 teams from the same pool are tied, their head to head match determines their order of finish.
2. If 3 teams from the same pool are tied after match and set % and point differential have been calculated, a coin flip will determine their order of finish.

Please note, the doors of the playing site will not be unlocked until 7:00AM. Team camps are only permitted in the Community Room ‘B’, area as designated by the tournament director. The tournament director will direct teams to camping areas. The use of any ball outside of the gymnasium is not permitted while inside the building. NO CHAIRS ARE PERMITTED IN THE GYM.

Concessions are provided in Community Room ‘A’. Keep all coolers in cars. Coolers are prohibited in and outside facilities hosting OVR- sanctioned events. Setting up tables and/or cooking by teams or their support staff, fans, coaches, or parents are prohibited at OVR-sanctioned events NO CHAIRS PERMITTED IN GYMNASIUM.Please NO FOOD or DRINK PERMITTED IN THE GYMS. Water or sports drinks only for players. 

Athlete Camping will be in Community Room B. Seating for spectators will provided in the gymnasium. Only those teams currently playing in a match are permitted on the gymnasium floor. If the tournament is cancelled, club directors are/or coaches and officials will be contacted (phone, email) as soon as possible. Tournament cancellations will be displayed at the OVR Junior Tournament list. Entry fees will be returned.

Day passes are available at the front desk for $6 per person.  Aquatics Area and Fitness Room will be open.
