Welcome to the OVR Officials' Forum!
I'd like to introduce you to the OVR Officials' Forum!
I'll be moderating this forum where we will provide tips, tricks, rule discussions/interpretations, techniques, and OVR regulations as they pertain to officiating in the region. The forum will be distributed by e-mail to all certified officials in the region, and it will also be archived on the website for future reference.
Here's how it's going to work:
Firstly, we'll provide refreshers on USAV officiating techniques, tips and tricks. Secondly, we'll also address any OVR tournament regulations questions that come up, and we'll utilize the appropriate OVR staff member to address such issues. Finally, and most importantly, we'd like to hear about your unusual situations, awkward predicaments and all that fun stuff that makes us love our profession so much!!
If you have a situation, rule interpretation or OVR question, please send it directly to me -- we may be able to use it as a Forum topic. Incidentally, I will not include your name or any other relevant information which might indicate the teams, coaches or officials involved! It will be kept anonymous to protect your integrity, as well as the others involved.
Also, as I receive some of the more interesting rule interpretation questions, I'll send them back out to the group in a multiple choice Q&A format to allow you to answer the way you think the situation should have been handled. I'll then compile the results and let you know how we did!
