Brian Hofman appointed as new commissioner of the Ohio Valley Region (OVR)

The Ohio Valley Region (OVR) announced on Sunday that Brian Hofman has been hired as new commissioner.

On Sunday July 10, 2022 the Ohio Valley Region conducted the annual meeting for 2022; at that time Dr. Brian Hofman, Ohio Northern University Business Professor of Sport Management, was installed as the new OVR Commissioner.

Dr. Hofman has a long history of USA volleyball involvement that ranges from being a participant, a coach, an official, a tournament host and an administrator. “I am honored by the opportunity to lead such a successful organization built by former Commissioner Bob Price and so many others. I am eager to confront our challenges and continue the work to make the OVR the best it can be for all of us who love the sport of volleyball. I encourage our membership to reach out and let me know your concerns and ideas on how the OVR can continue to not only be the biggest region in the country, but more importantly the best.”

Dr. Hofman is concluding his 30th year as the assistant coach of the ONU volleyball program so he can focus on his leadership for the OVR.  He brings remarkable experience and knowledge of the sport of volleyball, along with his research interests in youth sports and women in sport. Dr. Hofman is committed to communication, listening to the membership of the OVR and values putting players first, making him the ideal leader for the OVR.
