Gym TOURNAMENT START TIME: 9:00 a.m. Registration Requirements: Send 11-character team code, entry fee & coach's contact info (email & cell phone) BY JANUARY 15, 2017 OR 4 weeks prior to the tournament date, whichever is earlier. A team may be denied entry if the above requirements are not met. Later arrangements require mutual agreement between the tournament host and club directors. Cancellation Policy: A team cancelling after the entry deadline, 14 days prior to the tournament date, will forfeit its entry fee. A team cancelling prior to the entry deadline does not forfeit its full entry fee if a replacement is found. Phone or other expenses incurred to find a replacement may be deducted from the entry fee refund. A team cancelling from one tournament to enter a different tournament will forfeit its entry fee. If a team requests and receives entry into a tournament but does not pay its entry fee, the team's club will be fined the amount of the entry fee. This is a 12 team tournament and we will be following the standard USAV Format: https://www.ovr.org/juniors/tournament_packet/JTP_Tournament_Format_12.pdf 3 courts, 4 referees, 12 teams, 28 matches, 3 pools of 4 teams: Pool Play Format: For pools of 4 teams, the best of 3 sets will win matches. Each non-deciding set will be won by the team that first scores 25 points with a minimum 2-point advantage (no scoring cap). If there is a deciding set, it will be won by the team that first scores 15 points with a minimum 2-point advantage (no scoring cap). Change sides when a team earns 8 points. A point will be scored on each rally. If the receiving team wins the rally, they score a point and gain the serve. Pool Play Schedule: 1 vs 3 (2) 2 vs 4 (1) 1 vs 4 (3) 2 vs 3 (1) 3 vs 4 (2) 1 vs 2 (4) Tournament Format: All teams advance. All teams must be ranked within their pools based on match percentage first. For any ties, use the tie-breaking procedure below. All first-place, second-place, and the top two thirdplace teams to the Gold playoffs. The remaining third-place and all fourth-place teams to the Silver playoffs. Playoff positions on the tournament brackets will be based on pool finish to avoid teams from the same pool playing each other in the first round. To avoid third-place teams playing a team from their pool for the first tournament match, a tournament director can choose to switch best thirdplace and second-best third-place teams on the tournament bracket if both teams consent to the change. Food: A full Concession stand will be open all day with a variety of food, lunch items, snacks and drinks. Absolutely no outside vendor food is allowed in the building. If you bring any food or drink in the facility you will be asked to take it outside. Spectator Seating: There is plenty of bleacher seating on both sides of the H.S. courts. Bag Chairs will be permitted upstairs in the balcony of the H.S. gym as well as in the Middle School. Team Campsites will be designated in the H.S. Commons and the MS Aux gym. Awards: Presented to the winners of the Gold bracket only. (1st Place Gold will receive Tourney Champ T-shirts & 2nd Place Runner's Up will receive Under Armour Headbands) Cancellation: The tournament will ONLY be cancelled if Wood County is on a Level 3 winter advisory. In that event, tournament fees will be refunded. Please plan accordingly with your commute with inclement weather in NWO.
