Welcome to the Select Challenge at Kids America!

Team Entry Information:

Please use the “Register Teams” link on the Tournament Details page. *Note* Only Club Directors will be able to utilize this feature.

  Notes on tournament entry requests: (please read)

1.     All entry requests will be managed via the OVR registrations system. You can view the status of the entries on the tournament details page for each event.

2. Once your entry has been reviewed you will receive a status update email indicating that you are “ok to pay” or if you have been placed on a “waitlist” Payments are due 12/1/2023.

3.     Once your payment is received, your team’s status will be changed to “Accepted” and you will be placed on the OVR bracket. All entries which are not finalized by December 1st will be moved from “ok to pay” to “pending” status. As a result, other interested clubs may claim that entry. Please submit entry fees in a timely manner to avoid being shut out.        

4.     Any cancellations after December 1st will result in forfeiture of entry fee unless a paid replacement team is found.

Team rosters will be downloaded from the OVR website the week of the tournament. Please make sure your coach(es) are IMPACT certified.

There will be a coaches' meeting at 8:00 AM which will take place prior to the start of pool play. Warm-ups begin at 8:15 am. The tournament pool play starts at 8:30 am sharp.

OVR CHALLENGE TOURNAMENT FORMAT SCHEDULE

The first round of pool play as well as the first two matches of the second round of pool play will be played on Saturday. On Sunday, beginning at 8:30, we will continue the second round of pool play and then bracket play will follow.

Pool Play:

Pool play is the best of three sets with rally scoring. Each non-deciding set will be to 25 points with a minimum two-point advantage(no scoring cap). The deciding set, if needed will be to 15 points with a minimum two-point advantage(no scoring cap). All warm-ups will use the 2-4-4 format; 2-minutes shared court, 4-minutes Serving Team, 4-minutes Serve Receiving team. Teams may request the referee to tell them when to serve, usually one minute.

Tournament format: All teams advance to bracket play

All teams will be ranked within their pools based on match percentage first. Any ties will be broken using the OVR tie-breaking procedure. All first place and second place teams in Pools AA, BB, CC, and DD will play in the Gold tournament. All third and fourth place teams in Pools AA, BB, CC, and DD will play in the Silver tournament. The teams in Pools EE and FF will play in the Bronze tournament. 

Playoff positions on the tournament brackets will be based on pool finish. The lowest-seeded team in each division not playing the first round of the playoffs will officiate the first playoff match. Tournament play will be the best of three sets. After the first round of the playoffs, all losing teams, before leaving, must stay and officiate the next match.

Awards:

Medals will be awarded to the Champions and Runners-Up in the Gold, Silver and Bronze Tournament Brackets. 

Tournament site info:

The doors of the playing site will open at 7:00 AM. Visiting team camps will be in the designated camping areas communicated the day of the event. Each team will be given ample camping space. Keep all coolers in cars. Coolers are prohibited in and outside of facilities hosting OVR-sanctioned events. Setting up tables and/or cooking by teams or their support staff, fans, coaches, or parents is also prohibited at OVR-sanctioned events. A full concession stand with reasonable prices will be provided at the tournament site. We are excited to announce, along with the traditional menu, our concession stand will feature MJ Subs and sides for the 2024 season!

Seating:

We have balcony seating as well as limited space for court seating with personal camping chairs. No chairs will be permitted on the end lines or between the courts. No set up of chairs the night before.

Team/Tournament cancellation:

Teams withdrawing after December 1st, 2023 are responsible for the full entry fee unless a replacement team is found.

If Coshocton County is under a level 3 Snow Emergency, the tournament will be canceled, and all entry fees will be refunded. Listen to WTNS FM 99.3 Coshocton (www.mywtnsradio.com) for details. For those teams looking for overnight accommodations, Kids America recommends Renaissance on Main, a locally owned and operated Airbnb. For a traditional hotel experience, we recommend The Coshocton Village Inn and Suites. Please let them know you are coming in for a JO volleyball tournament and receive a discount off their regular rates.
