Tournament Information

This event is over-subscribed. Beacuse of this, we are changing this to a National team only event.  The top 18 Regional team will not be invited.  I appolgize for this change in policy.

 COVID PROTOCOLS

Any spectator, player or coach exhibiting COVID related symptoms will be denied entry and asked to leave the event and facility if already admitted.

If you are experiencing any of the following symptoms prior to your arrival, PLEASE STAY HOME:

·         Fever or chills

·         Cough

·         Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing.

·         Fatigue

·         Muscle or body aches

·         Headache

·         New loss of taste or smell

·         Sore throat

·         Congestion or runny nose

·         Nausea or vomiting.

·         Diarrhea

If you have had close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, please adhere to recommended guidelines for quarantining.

Mask Requirements

All spectators MUST WEAR FACEMASKS that cover their mouth & nose at all times while in the facility.  NO MASK, NO ENTRY, NO EXCEPTION! Individuals who have a written medical statement/waiver from their doctor are exempt from the masking requirement. Proof of medical exemption is required and will be kept by the Facility in case of questions from the local Health Department. Anyone not adhering to the policy will be removed.

Only Athletes that are participating (on the court) are NOT REQUIRED to be wearing a face mask. Everyone else is to be wearing a mask that covers their mouth & nose. That means those athletes in the bench area and coaches are REQUIRED to be wearing a mask that cover their mouth & nose. Team Rosters

Team rosters will be downloaded Friday morning March 12. Any changes to rosters can be made at the coaches meeting. Any changes will need to be verified. Please be sure to have your rosters updated by Thursday night or bring an updated roster.  

Teams are permitted 3 staff members plus team members. Any COVID Coordinator is considered part of the team staff and must be included on the team roster and meet all certifications.

Coaches and/or COVID coordinator will receive a different colored bracelet for the event.   The COVID Coordinator will be responsible for communicating to the other parents regarding re-entry for matches.  Bracelets must be visible on re-entry.

Teams/Spectator Entry Procedures

Due to COVID concerns and limited space, we are allowing 1 person per rostered athlete. Spectator entries will be given a bracelet.

The facility is trying to create a check-in procedure that will minimize any mass groups of people. Therefore, the following procedures will be used.

7:30 AM All teams’ rostered staff and #1 and #3 teams in the pools and spectators for those teams will enter the building. Players will move directly to the camping area. After check in, Spectators can proceed to courts.

8:00 AM #2 teams in the pools and spectators for those teams will enter the building. Players will move directly to the camping area and then to their assigned courts to act as the work crew for the first match. After check in, Spectators can proceed to camping area.

8:30 AM #4 teams in the pools and spectators for those teams will enter the building. Spectators and Players will move directly to the camping area.

Spectator Protocols

Only those spectators associated with the playing teams will be near the courts. After each match, any spectator whose team is not playing in the next match is to vacate the spectator observation area and chairs are to be removed to the camping area.

 

 

Coaches Meeting

Short meeting on Court #1 for ALL coaches at 8:00AM. First matches to begin warmups procedures after the Coaches meeting. Teams and officials will need to be flexible on this starting time.

Work Team Protocols

Please have your work team available court side at the coin toss for the next match. Please provide pens and pencils for your score table duties and any Line Judge flags (not required.) At the completion of the match please remove all pens, pencils and flags and be sure the coaches pickup their lineup sheets. The court official and /or Tournament Director will be responsible for any match papers.

NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINKS WILL BE PERMITTED DUE TO FOOD LICENSING FOR DAYTON SPORTS COMPLEX.

 Dayton Sports Complex reserves the right to remove any person who can't/doesn't comply with the above.

Concessions: We do have a concession stand on site with many great options. Outside food and/or coolers are not permitted in the building.

 

 

The OVR has changed accounting systems.  Please send a separate chcek for each OVR tournament that you have teams entered into.  Not a separate check per team, just per event.

Juniors’ Regular-Season Tournaments
10.12 Team withdraws due to Covid 19 restrictions.
Tournament or Site - REQUIRED CANCELLATION
All team entry fees, in FULL, are required to be returned within 10
days.
Team Cancellations: When a TEAM must withdraw from an event due to
required quarantine/cancellation, the following policy will be
enforced.
NO REFUND of event entry fee will be required of the event host. Every
effort must be made of the event host to replace the team withdrawing
and refund of entry fee made possible.
A PARTIAL REFUND may result from this effort. Many Tournament Directors
have made a “reduced entry fee proposal” to entice a late entry. The
difference in cost must be returned to the withdrawn team.

USAV requires that a rostered adult must be the R2 for all age divisions at National Qualifying events such as this event.

Since this is a qualifying event, club directors decided not to move teams from the same club out of the same initial pool.

Accepting or Declining a National Bid: A team may immediately decline a National Bid with no penalty once they have earned it. The National Bid will then trickle down to the next eligible team. Accepting or Declining an American Bid: A team may immediately decline an American Bid with no penalty once they have earned it. The American Bid will then trickle down to the next eligible team.

Checks should be mailed by January 15, 2021. Checks are not deposited until the weekend of the event. If you are entering teams in multiple events, you may want to send a separate check per event.

Coaches Meeting at 8 am. First matches are at 8:30 am.

Registration for teams will remain open until February 1st. At that time I will not accept any more registrations unless there is space.

Only the top sixteen18 National teams (as of Tuesday, March 9th) of the teams registered will participate. This is NOT a first-come first-served event. The other teams will receive refunds.

This tournament is restricted to Ohio Valley Region teams only. This is a special tournament for OVR 18 National teams. The top two finishers earn a spot in the USAV National Division of the Girls 18s Junior National Championships in Columbus on April 23-25. The next three finishers will earn spots in the American Division.

This 18s Bid Tournament is only open to teams serious about playing in the USAV Girls 18s JNC. Do not enter this tournament if you are not willing to participate in the USAV Girls 18s JNC. If you earn a spot in the JNC and do not participate, your club may not be allowed to participate in qualifying tournaments the next season.

Grade-level teams are not allowed into this event. Your team must be age appropriate for the division you enter.

There is a State of Ohio law that requires all coaches and administrators of juniors sports teams to have concussion certifications. Here is a link to the NFHS course in Concussion in Sports

Keep all coolers in cars. Coolers are prohibited in and outside facilities hosting OVR-sanctioned events. Setting up tables and/or cooking by teams or their support staff, fans, coaches, or parents are prohibited at OVR-sanctioned events.
