Below are the Columbus Convention Center site rules and regulations. Violations of the rules and regulations will result in disqualification and elimination from the event of the offending teams and/or individuals, including parents.

1. Players are allowed to bring water bottles and snacks in their gym bag.
2. No passing volleyballs in hallways or concessions areas. Warm-up time will be provided on the court before the match.
3. No smoking in gym areas or hallways.
4. There are no shower facilities.
5. Put all trash in containers provided by the Convention Center staff.

Tournament Information

We do not know if Governor DeWine's announcement about spectators affects our event this weekend.  For now we are still planning on just the three spectators per team per day.  If it changes we will publish it here.

There will be a limited number of entrances to the Convention Center.  Read this information closely.  On Sunday, the 15s arrive an hour earlier than the 13s and 17s.  We want to get the 15s started playing at noon.  The 13s and 17s start playing at 1 PM Sunday.

There will not be a coaches meeting or check-in at Championship Desk.  Just head to your court.  Check-in is done through AES.  Here is the information from AES: 

 

Online Check-In: ability for teams to complete check in prior to their arrival. 

How it works:

- Teams will receive an automatic notification if online check-in is available for one of their registered teams.

- Teams will see a 'Check In' link next to their teams either within the team detail or My Events.

- An email confirmation of the online check in will be sent along with a PDF version of the roster they completed online check in. 

I have check-in opening Thursday morning.

 

If you have not been able to build your roster in AES, don't worry.  Just carry your OVR roster with you.

 

If you have any Grade Waivered players, add them by hand to your line-up sheet roster at the score table.

The City of Columbus Health Department as agreed to allow Three spectators per team (YES, PER TEAM) for the Columbus part of the Presidents' Cup and Terry Miller All-American Classic (Formerly American SpringFest) Tournaments.  Spectators may be different people each day.

It will be up to each club to determine how to allocate these spectator positions.

We do not charge admission at the Columbus event.

There will be nine chairs per court provided by the GCCC.  These are for the three spectators for each of the three teams on the court.

Each team is only allowed one head coach, one assistant coach and one COVID Coordinator.

Water fountains will be working.

 

DO NOT BRING YOUR OWN CHAIRS!!  You will not be allowed to bring them into the building.  This is a change in GCCC policy.  Chairs will be provided for each of the three spectators per team and each COVID Coordinator.

We will be using AES Check-In.  It will open on Thursday morning.  Club Directors should look for an email to check-in their teams then.  Coaches do not need to come to Championship Desk on Saturday.  Just go to your court.  Carry either your OVR, AES or SE roster.

Juniors’ Regular-Season Tournaments

10.12 Team withdraws due to Covid 19 restrictions.

Tournament or Site - REQUIRED CANCELLATION

All team entry fees, in FULL, are required to be returned within 10

days.

Team Cancellations: When a TEAM must withdraw from an event due to

required quarantine/cancellation, the following policy will be

enforced.

NO REFUND of event entry fee will be required of the event host. Every

effort must be made of the event host to replace the team withdrawing

and refund of entry fee made possible.

A PARTIAL REFUND may result from this effort. Many Tournament Directors

have made a “reduced entry fee proposal” to entice a late entry. The

difference in cost must be returned to the withdrawn team.

Please, no coolers, wagons, blankets in the playing area.  The fire marshall has been very diligent in monitoring the aisles.

How teams finish in each pool is per USAV Tournament Rules, (head to head, matches winning %, sets winning %, point %). If tie is not resolved, tie breaking rules will be revisited again using only the results between the tied teams.

Warm-ups will be 7-4-4 for the first match for each team each day. Then they will be 2-4-4 for any subsequent matches in the same day.

No ball handling except on the courts.

Teams will be in three team pools. Your team is either officiating or playing. There will not be a coaches meeting prior to the start of the tournament.

Teams will have to supply a down official, 2 line judges, an official scorer, a Libero tracker and score flipper for the matches they are required to officiate.

A minimum of 6 matches guaranteed (except in two team pools).

The tournament will only be cancelled if there is a level 3 snow emergency in Franklin County, Ohio. Should you have any questions, please contact Al Herbert at 330-354-5332.

Entry fee is $495 per team. Please supply your 11 character team codes as soon as you have defined them.

There is a State of Ohio law that requires all coaches and administrators of juniors sports teams to have concussion certifications. Here is a link to the NFHS course in Concussion in Sports

Non-OVR teams need to submit a tournament entry form with their entry fee checks. 

 

For non-Ohio Valley Region teams, here is an explanation of our team designations. The OVR teams are divided into three groups:
National - similar to USAV Qualifiers Open and USA Divisions
American - similar to USAV Qualifiers American Division
Regional - teams that typically do not attend qualifiers
