Below are the Columbus Convention Center site rules and regulations. Violations of the rules and regulations will result in disqualification and elimination from the event of the offending teams and/or individuals, including parents.

1. Players are allowed to bring water bottles and snacks in their gym bag.
2. No passing volleyballs in hallways or concessions areas. Warm-up time will be provided on the court before the match.
3. No smoking in gym areas or hallways.
4. There are no shower facilities.
5. Put all trash in containers provided by the Convention Center staff.

Coaches do not need to check-in at Championship Desk.  Just carry a copy of your OVR or AES roster with you.

 

There will be a meeting for all COVID Coordinators at Championship Desk right after the National Anthem at about 7:45 am on Saturday.  Also again for the afternoon wave at about 2:45 pm.

The City of Columbus Health Department as agreed to allow two spectators per team (YES, PER TEAM) for the Columbus part of the Presidents' Cup and Terry Miller All-American Classic (Formerly American SpringFest) Tournaments.  Spectators may be different people each day.

It will be up to each club to determine how to allocate these spectator positions.

We do not charge admission at the Columbus event.

There will be six chairs per court provided by the GCCC.  These are for the two spectators for each of the three teams on the court.

Each team is still allowed one head coach, one assistant coach and one COVID Coordinator.

Water fountains will be working.

The OVR has changed accounting systems.  Please send a separate chcek for each OVR tournament that you have teams entered into.  Not a separate check per team, just per event.

10.12 Team withdraws due to Covid 19 restrictions.

Tournament or Site - REQUIRED CANCELLATION

All team entry fees, in FULL, are required to be returned within 10

days.

Team Cancellations: When a TEAM must withdraw from an event due to

required quarantine/cancellation, the following policy will be

enforced.

NO REFUND of event entry fee will be required of the event host. Every

effort must be made of the event host to replace the team withdrawing

and refund of entry fee made possible.

A PARTIAL REFUND may result from this effort. Many Tournament Directors

have made a “reduced entry fee proposal” to entice a late entry. The

difference in cost must be returned to the withdrawn team.

Doors open at 7:00 am each day. 

 Pandemic Rules require us to change to this - Wave Schedule for Saturday: 
    8 am Start - 11:15 am Repool play second pool: 18U, 17R, 16N, 16R,15A
2:30 pm - Sanitize 
    3 pm Start - 6:15 pm Repool play second pool: 17N, 17A, 16A, 15N, 15R

 

And Sunday:

    8 am Start - 18U, 17R, 16N, 16R,15A

    1 PM Start -17N, 17A, 16A, 15N, 15R

How teams finish in each pool is per USAV Tournament Rules, (head to head, matches winning %, sets winning %, point %). If tie is not resolved, tie breaking rules will be revisited again using only the results between the tied teams.

Match 1: 1 vs 3 (2 ref)
Match 2: 2 vs 3 (1 ref)
Match 3: 1 vs 2 (3 ref)

Warm-ups will be 7-4-4 for the first match for each team each day. Then they will be 2-4-4 for any subsequent matches in the same day. No ball handling except on the courts.

Teams will be in three team pools. Your team is either officiating or playing. There will not be a coaches meeting prior to the start of the tournament. 

Doors will open at 7:00 AM on Saturday and Sunday.

Teams will be placed in pools of 3 teams. Teams play best of 3 sets. Any pool reduced to two teams will play best of 5 sets. Teams will have to supply a down official, 2 line judges, an official scorer, a Libero tracker and score flipper for the matches they are required to officiate.

A minimum of 6 matches guaranteed. Awards will be given to 1st through 4th in the Gold Division. Concessions will be available.

The tournament will only be cancelled if there is a level 3 snow emergency in Franklin County, Ohio.

For non-Ohio Valley Region teams, here is an explanation of our team designations. The OVR teams are divided into three groups:
National - similar to USAV Qualifiers Open and USA Divisions
American - similar to USAV Qualifiers American Division
Regional - teams that typically do not attend qualifiers
