Tournament Information UPDATE as of 3/20/2021

Spectator fee 5.00

Doors open 7:30

Teams that play in the 4th slot should enter at 8:00 so we can stagger the flow of people.

Coaches meeting - 8:00 main hallway. Please sign your rosters.

Players, coaches, COVID coordinators, and prepaid teams enter in the separately marked door. Spectators who have not prepaid enter in the door marked for Spectators.

Rosters:

Due to many changes regarding COVID at the last minute changes, Pool will not be posted until Thursday, and rosters will not be printed until Friday night.

Credential:

OVR has stated sports engine is still having difficulties regarding credentials. If you have a notice that you are missing a credential and you really have it, you will need to either, contact and turn in prior, or no later than that day. No proof of credential, no entry.

COVID Coordinator:

Most teams already have an approved (required chaperone membership) COVID coordinator. If you do not then these responsibilities fall on a coach.

COVID coordinators must:

·       Keep a written copy of all player/spectator attendance for contact tracing

·       Oversee that all masks are being worn properly at all times

·       Ensure that team spectators are practicing social distancing when on the bleachers

·       Serve as point of contact for Tournament director

·       Ensure bench personnel & substitutes social distance on the sidelines

·       Clean “bench” area entirely– trash, bottles, wrappers, etc. after your match

·       Disinfect balls

·       Clean up holding area when players are not the work team

Coaches:

Per OVR for 2021

·       Four players + coach (5th) for work team.  Please keep chairs at opposite ends of the table.

·       1 Second Referee

·       2 Line judges

·       1 Scorebook person

·       1 Libero tracker/Flip score

·       Please bring your own pencils for your work team

·       When it is your team's turn to ref, please use the cleaning supplies at every court to clean the tables and chairs.

·       I recommend double checking the pools Saturday morning in case of any last minute changes.  Teams sometimes are being forced to drop last minute due to Covid quarantine.

·       We will have a coach’s area so that one (1) representative (Coach, Asst. coach, Covid coordinator) from their team can remain in the building to monitor game play on their court so that they can notify their players/spectators when they can reenter.  It is especially important that a representative from your team is available for the tournament director to find after pool play is finished so they can notify your team when/where they will be playing for brackets.

·       Officials will have a separate area from the participants for in between matches.

Team Expectations

Please forward to all coaches, COVID coordinators and parents/players

Tournament Entry

Everyone (players/staff/spectators) should perform a COVID self-health check and NOT attend if they are having any symptoms. A digital no contact thermometer will be on site should any coach suspect a player may have a fever.

Spectators

Eighteen (18) spectators per team will be permitted. Children/siblings count as spectators. Wristbands are for sale for $5.00 at the door. YOU WILL NEED THE EXACT AMOUNT because we will have a receptacle to drop you $ in so there is no contact with money. Teams who wish to pre-purchase a group of wristbands may prepay and have their bands waiting at the door. Please contact me ahead of time.  This is strongly suggested for efficiency of entering the facility. Wristband must remain on for the duration of the tournament, and must be visible should someone ask you to see your wristband.  Spectators may have a purse or camera bag.  No other bags are allowed.

Entering Facility

The line waiting for the doors to open should have players in front and spectators in back.  Please group together with your team.

General Facility Guidelines

·       No ball handling outside of the gym.

·       No outside food from restaurants is allowed inside of the facility.

·       Player and coach water bottles are the only outside drinks permitted.

·       No food allowed in the gym at any time.

Concessions

A full hot and cold concession is provided, comprised of prepackaged and packaged items. Any request for condiments will be taken care of by the staff or prepackaged condiments will be used. Spectators may purchase items to go if they are finished with their matches and vacating the facility.

Masks

Masks are required to be worn by everyone at ALL times while in the building.  Players may take off masks when actively involved on the court.  Anyone refusing to wear a mask will be asked to leave.  If a person has a medical reason that they cannot wear a mask, they should not attend.  Anyone refusing to wear a mask will be asked to leave.

Seating

Socially distanced marks will be on the bleachers.  NO OUTSIDE CHAIRS. Bleachers will be sprayed in between matches.

In Between Matches

When your team is not playing, or as soon as they are finished playing, players that are not part of the work crew will have a designated area. This area is for team players not pwrking and for parents. You may go to the concession stand and eat in the commons. Once you are finished you are required to report to your designated area. No congregating with people other than your team. Only tournament officials/staff, players/coaches for the teams that are involved in the current match on their court, and the 5 people for the reffing team will be in the playing area.  The coaches need to notify their spectators when they need to reenter the gyms for their next game. Players should stay in their area unless directed to do otherwise by tournament staff.  Teams are NOT to be comingling with other teams outside of the playing court.
