Tournament Information

2021 Shark Attack Tournament

Game Time Sports Center will allow ONE  spectator per ATHLETE for 4/17 and 4/18.  Please follow the signs for check in and admission. Admission is $5 per spectator. Please have exact change ready.

 

 ALL TEAMS WILL CHECK IN AT 7am WITH ALL ROSTERED INDIVIDUALS.

Teams will consist of no more than 12 rostered individuals.  Coaches, athletes, and covid coordinators will need to be rostered and be present at team check in. We will have a designated area for team check in. There will be NO coaches’ meeting in the morning. I will send pool information via email on Thursday.

 

Masks/face coverings willing be required to be worn at all times within Game Time Sports Center.  Exceptions are; athletes/coaches/officials who are stationary and socially distant while eating and/or drinking, players actively participating in competition or warmups. 

 

Players and coaches on the bench will need to be covered. Coverings/Shields must fully cover nose and mouth. 

Those who have medical or other reasons for not wearing a mask will be able to watch the events via Facebook Live on their own personal devices outside of the facility. This should be coordinated within your own team.

It is HIGHLY recommended that spectators leave the building when your player is not playing. This will help greatly with staying 6 feet apart.

 

There will be NO camping at the facility for this event.

Registration Requirements: Send team code, entry fee & coach's contact BY JANUARY 1, 2021.

Cancellation Policy: A team cancelling after the entry deadline, 14 days prior to the tournament date, will forfeit its entry fee. A team cancelling prior to the entry deadline does not forfeit its full entry fee if a replacement is found. Phone or other expenses incurred to find a replacement may be deducted from the entry fee refund. A team cancelling from one tournament to enter a different tournament will forfeit its entry fee. If a team requests and receives entry into a tournament but does not pay its entry fee, the team's club will be fined the amount of the entry fee.

Concessions: Many great options are available on-site. Outside food and/or coolers are not permitted in the building.

Spectator Seating: Bleacher seating is available on each court and limited floor space is available for outside chairs. Please note that chairs are NOT permitted on the sport court surface.

Tournament Format: This tournament features TWO ROUNDS of POOL PLAY followed by Gold, Silver, Bronze & Copper Playoff Brackets. Saturday play will consist of all six matches in the first round of pool play and the FIRST TWO matches of the second round of pool play. Sunday play will consist of the remainder of the second round of pool play and the play-off brackets. Teams will be re-seeded for the second round of pool play based on their finish in the first round.

 

Playoffs: The first and second place teams from Pools AA and BB will advance to GOLD Bracket. The third and fourth place teams from Pools AA and BB will advance to the SILVER Bracket. The first and second place teams from Pools CC and DD will advance to the BRONZE Bracket. The third and fourth place teams from Pools CC and DD will advance to the COPPER Bracket.

Awards: Presented to Gold Playoff Bracket winner & runner-up.

Weather Related Cancellations/Delays: If Clark or Champaign County issue a Level 3 Emergency, the tournament will be cancelled. If the tournament is cancelled, a notice will be displayed on the Sharks Volleyball website (www.sharksvolleyball.net). Club coaches/directors and assigned officials will be contacted by phone via the phone number we have on file. Entry fees will be returned within one week of the cancellation.
