Tournament Cancelled

Another Great Year, Another Great National Tourney. This is the 3rd year the Cincinnati Bullets have earned the right to represent the OVR at the Junior National Tournament in Atlanta. As always, it was great volleyball and a lot of fun. We love playing the best volleyball teams in the country — there is nothing that can compare to playing at that level. Just being on the court with teams from all over the US is awesome.

Playing JO Nationals is a fabulous experience on many levels. You meet a lot of great players who you will be playing with and against for the rest of your career. For some players, Nationals are the highlight of their career. For others who continue to play at the college level, Nationals are the beginning of the level of play they will experience later.

I will never forget my first time to go to nationals, there is nothing to compare to it. The intensity and level of play is incredible. You can feel the passion of the players. There is an atmosphere that I have never experienced anywhere else. Everybody plays hard and gives their all. However, in spite of the desire to win, I always see good sportsmanship. Even after losing a tough match, the players are respectful to each other.

Playing Nationals is the perfect way to end a season. It is the reward for all the hard work the girls put into our favorite sport. JO Volleyball is a long season, staring around December and not ending until July. The girls put in a lot of time on the court practicing and working hard to be the best they can be. Getting a ticket to Nationals is the first reward for the effort, and that is a good experience on its own. But the real reward is playing at the National Tourney.

In spite of the fact that there are only a limited few teams that leave the last day winning their final match, every team that attends is a winner. That is one of the nice features of the experience: teams don’t have to win every match to have a positive experience.

Our team has really enjoyed our experience, and has been fortunate to win a “ticket to the Big Dance” every year of our existence. We are a one-team club and it has been our goal from Day 1 to go to Nationals. We are fortunate to be able to achieve this goal, and we are looking forward to playing in Houston next year. We hope to see you there!
