Tournament Cancelled

The USA Girl's Youth National Team began the FIVB Girl's Under-18 World Championships with a convincing 3-1 over the Czech Republic in Poland on Saturday afternoon. Led by team captain Sarah Florian (Kaepa Toledo VBC), Nicole Fawcett (Team Atlantis VBC) and Nicole Britenriker (Team Z) had 16 and 10 points, respectively, placing Team USA at the top of the Pool C standings.

UPDATE....THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED!!  

Team rosters will be downloaded from the OVR website the week of the tournament. Please make sure your coach is IMPACT certified. There will be a coaches' meeting at 8:00 AM at the playing site which will take place prior to the start of pool play. Warm-ups are at 8:15 am. The tournament pool play starts at 8:30 AM sharp.

Tournament entry fee of $450 is due January 15, 2020. Please include the 11-character team code with your entry fee.

Pool play format: 6 courts, 9 referees each day, 24 teams, 93 matches

Pool play is the best of three sets with rally scoring. Each non-deciding set will be to 25 points with a minimum two-point advantage(no scoring cap). The deciding set, if needed will be to 15 points with a minimum two point advantage(no scoring cap). All warm-ups will use the 2-4-4 format; 2-minutes shared court, 4-minutes Serving Team, 4-minutes Serve Receiving team. Teams may request the referee to tell them when to serve, usually one minute.

The first round of pool play will be played along with the first two matches of the second round of pool play will be played on Saturday.  Sunday beginning at 8:30 will continue the second round of pool play and then bracket play to follow.

Tournament format: All teams advance.

All first place teams and second place teams in Pools AA, BB, CC and DD will play in the Gold tournament.

All third place and fourth place teams in Pools AA, BB, CC, DD will play in the Silver tournament.

The teams in Pools EE and FF will play in the Bronze tournament.

 

Playoff positions on the tournament brackets will be based on pool finish. Awards to first and second  in Gold Division as well as the top finishers in the Silver and Bronze Divisions. The lowest seeded team in each division not playing the first round of the playoffs will officiate the first playoff match.

 

Tournament play will be the best of three sets. After the first round of the playoffs, all losing teams, before leaving, must stay and officiate the next match.

 

Please note, Kids America is in the process of raIsing money for a parking lot expansion project. We are accepting donations, but you do not have to pay to park! The doors of the playing site will open 7:30 AM. All team camps will be in the balcony of the facility. No teams will be allowed to camp on the main floor of the facility. Keep all coolers in cars. Coolers are prohibited in and outside facilities hosting OVR-sanctioned events. Setting up tables and/or cooking by teams or their support staff, fans, coaches, or parents are prohibited at OVR-sanctioned events. A full concession stand with reasonable prices will be provided at the tournament site.

 

We have a full balcony for spectator seating, but chairs may be brought in if desired. Only two rows of chairs will be permitted around the outside sideline walls of the courts. No chairs on the end lines or between the courts. We will allow chairs to be set up on Friday night between 8:45-9:00pm.

 

Team/Tournament cancellation:

Per OVR Tournament Regulations, Section 4.6 - a team canceling after the entry deadline, 14 days prior to the tournament date, will forfeit its entry fee. A team canceling does not forfeit its full entry fee if a replacement is found. A team canceling from this tournament to enter a different tournament will forfeit its entry fee.
