Tournament Information

Thank you for your interest in our tournaments at Kids America!

Team rosters will be downloaded from the OVR website the week of the tournament. Please make sure your coach is IMPACT certified. There will be a coaches' meeting at 8:00 AM at the playing site which will take place prior to the start of pool play. Warm-ups are at 8:15 am. The tournament pool play starts at 8:30 AM sharp. Tournament entry fee is due January 15, 2020. Please include the 11-character team code with your entry fee.

Pool Format:

Pool pay is the best of three sets with rally scoring. Each non-deciding set will be to 25 points with a minimum two-point advantage(no scoring cap). The deciding set, if needed will be to 15 points with a minimum two point advantage(no scoring cap). All warm-ups will use the 2-4-4 format; 2-minutes shared court, 4-minutes Serving Team, 4-minutes Serve Receiving team. Teams may request the referee to tell them when to serve, usually one minute. Medals will be awarded for each division first place and second place teams.

Teams will officiate according to the above schedule for pool play.

Tournament Format:

All teams will be ranked within their pools based on match percentage first. For any ties, use the OVR tie-breaking procedure. All first-place, second-place, and the top two thirdplace teams to the Gold playoffs. The remaining third-place and all fourth-place teams go into the Silver playoffs. Playoff positions on the tournament brackets will be based on pool finish to avoid teams from the same pool playing each other in the first round. To avoid third-place teams playing a team from their pool for the first tournament match, a tournament director can choose to switch best third place and second-best third place teams on the tournament bracket if both teams consent to the change. The lowest seeded team in each division not playing the first round of the playoffs will officiate the first playoff match. Tournament will be the best of three sets. After the first round of the playoffs, all losing teams, before leaving, must stay and officiate the next match.

Team/Tournament cancellation:

Teams withdrawing are subject to a $100 cancellation fee unless a replacement team is found. A team that withdraws within 30 days of the tournament date will forfeit its entry fee. 

If Coshocton County is under a level 3 Snow Emergency, the tournament will be cancelled and all entry fees will be refunded. Listen to WTNS FM 99.3 Coshocton (www.mywtnsradio.com) for details. Please note, Kids America is in the process of raising money for a parking lot expansion project.  We are accepting donations, however you do not have to pay to park!! The doors of the playing site will open at 7:30 AM. All team camps will be in the balcony of the facility. No teams will be allowed to camp on the main floor of the facility. Keep all coolers in cars. Coolers are prohibited in and outside facilities hosting OVR-sanctioned events. Setting up tables and/or cooking by teams or their support staff, fans, coaches, or parents are prohibited at OVR-sanctioned events. A full concession stand with reasonable prices will be provided at the tournament site.

We have a full balcony for spectator seating, but chairs may be brought into the facility if desired. Only two rows of chairs are permitted around the outside sideline walls of the courts. No chairs will be permitted on the end lines or between the courts. Kids America permits chairs to be set up the evening prior to the tourney between 8:45-9:00pm.
