Tournament Information

PLEASE NOTE TWO IMPORTANT CHANGES FOR THIS TOURNAMENT:
1)CHANGE IN START TIME. THIS TOURNAMENT BEGINS PROMPTLY AT 8:00
A.M.
2)THERE IS A DETOUR TO THE FACILITY THAT WILL ADD FIVE MINUTES TO
YOUR TRIP. YOU NEED TO USE THE LINK BELOW OF AN ONU CAMPUS MAP TO
HELP YOU GET AROUND THE DETOUR

http://www.onu.edu/node/40965

All traffic must arrive to King-Horn (#28 on the campus map) by
using the main ONU entrance at College Ave. This route will take
you the back way to the playing site. Plan on an extra five
minutes for this and keep in mind the tournament still starts
promptly at 8:00 a.m. as the University is celebrating the end to
our $100 Million Dollar Capitial Campaign in the Field House
beginning at 5:30, so the tournament needs to be concluded by
5:30.

The tournament begins promptly at 8:00 a.m. Doors will open at
7:15 a.m.

Upon arrival to the playing site, all coaches are required to stop
by the concession stand to verify their roster, which will be
printed from the OVR web site the week prior to the tournament.
This verification serves as the coaches meeting as all information
you need to know is on this site. You must have an IMPACT
certified coach.

The tournament starts at promptly at 8:00 A.M. Pool play is the
best of three sets with rally scoring. Each non-deciding set will
be to 25 points with a minimum two-point advantage (no scoring
cap.) The deciding set, if needed, will be to 15 points with a
minimum two point advantage (no scoring cap.) Warm-ups for a
team's first match of the day will use the 8-4-4 format; 8-minutes
shared court, 4-minutes Serving Team, 4-minutes Serve Receiving
team. After all frist matches for teams, warm-up will use the
2-4-4 format; 2-minutes shared court, s-minutes Serving Team,
4-minutes Receiving team.

Match order for the first two rounds is listed below:
8:00 a.m. 1 vs. 3 (2)
8:45 a.m. 2 vs. 4 (1)
Team in ( ) officiates

All remaining matches will be played 10 minutes after the previous
match is completed. Schedules will be posted on each court at the
scorer’s table, as well as the master schedule posted at the
concession stand.

Teams are not listed in their seed order and all pools were set-up
by OVR guidelines that requires teams from the same club to not be
in the same pool.

After pool play teams will be put in playoff brackets according to
their pool finish. Playoff brackets for each age division will be
posted at the master schedule by the concession stand. The lowest
seeded team in each division not playing the first round of the
playoffs will officiate the first playoff match. Tournament play
will be the best of three sets. After the first round of the
playoffs all losing teams, before leaving, must stay and officiate
the next match. Awards will be given to teams who finish 1st or
2nd in the Gold bracket in divisions where there are 9 or more
teams and awards will be given to teams who finish 1st in the Gold
bracket in divisions where there are 8 or less teams.

A team camping area will be provided. There is no camping in the
hallways. Seating in the gyms is anywhere there is matting on the
floor or in the side gyms anyway BETWEEN the two play courts.
There is no seating along the walls next to the play courts.

Keep all coolers in cars. Coolers are prohibited in and outside
facilities hosting OVR-sanctioned events. Setting up tables and/or
cooking by teams or their support staff, fans, coaches, or parents
are prohibited at OVR-sanctioned events. A concession will be
provided at the tournament site.

You may bring your own chairs to sit in. Some chairs may be
provided, depending on their availability. Chairs are only
allowed on the matted areas in the gym.

Team/Tournament Cancellation: Per OVR regulations - a team
canceling after the entry deadline, 14 days prior to the
tournament date, will forfeit its entry fee. A team canceling
prior to the entry deadline does not forfeit its full entry fee if
a replacement is found. A team canceling from this tournament to
enter a different tournament will forfeit its entry fee.

If Hardin County is under a Level 3 Emergency, the tournament will
be canceled. For any reason the tournament is canceled, a notice
will be displayed at the OVR Junior Tournament list. Entry fees
will be refunded as soon as possible.

If you have any questions please email me at b-hofman@onu.edu

Best wishes to everyone and be safe in your travels.
