Site Rules

Below are the Columbus Convention Center site rules and regulations. Violations of the rules and regulations will result in disqualification and elimination from the event of the offending teams and/or individuals, including parents.

1. No coolers or food may be brought into the building by players or parents. (The center has two concession areas.)
2. No passing volleyballs in hallways or concessions areas. Warm-up time will be provided on the court before the match.
3. No smoking in gym areas or hallways.
4. Junior Championships: All teams are to camp in the concourse (and not to block any doors!). Do not camp in exhibit halls D, E, and F, where the tournament is running.
5. There are no shower facilities.
6. Keep all chairs far away from any court or playable areas. (Parents may bring their own chairs.)
7. Only certified vendors may sell clothing, shirts, shoes, etc. with approval from the Commissioner.
8. Put all trash in containers provided by the Convention Center staff.

Komen Race for the Cure

The 2012 Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure will take place Saturday, May 19, in Downtown Columbus. This event is expected to have a crowd of up to 50,000 people taking part in different runs and walks. Broad Street will be closed to traffic between High and Third streets from 6 p.m. Friday evening, May 18 to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 19. The following streets will be closed to traffic for formation starting at 6 a.m. Saturday, May 19.

• N. Front Street between W. Gay and W. Town streets
• Broad Street between High St. and Civic Center Dr.

Participants should try to arrive early and expect delays. Roads along the race routes will begin closing at approximately 8:00 a.m. The 5k Competitive Run will begin at 8:15 a.m. The 5k Coed Run will begin at 8:30, the 5K Coed Walk at 8:45 a.m. and the 1 Mile Fun Walk at 9:15 a.m.

Mile Fun Walk Course:

• Begins at City Hall (Corner of W. Broad and N. Front streets)
• North on N. Front Street to Spring St.
• East on Spring St. to High St.
• South on High St. to the Columbus Commons

5k Races/Walks Course:

• Begins at City Hall (Corner of W. Broad and N. Front streets)
• North on N. Front St. to Spring St.
• West on Spring St. to Marconi Blvd.
• South on Marconi Blvd. to Long St.
• West on Long St. to Hanover St.
• North on Hanover St. to Nationwide Blvd.
• East on Nationwide Blvd. to Front/Park St.

Motorists should use caution in this area due to increased pedestrian traffic. Special Duty Columbus Police officers will be directing traffic for both the race and parking. (City of Columbus)

There isn't any player camping in Halls D, E or F. All blankets, pillows, sleeping bags, etc must be put in the designated camping areas across the concourse from the playing areas.
