• From Columbus, Mansfield & Wooster:

  • US 30 East to State Route 21 North. State Route 21 north through downtown Massillon to the third traffic light, which is Cherry Street. Turn right on Cherry Street. The Massillon Recreation Center will be on your right.

• From Cleveland:

  • I-77 south to Fairlawn and State Route 21 south. State Route 21 south approximately 20 miles to Massillon. Cherry Street is the second traffic light.Turn left on Cherry Street. The Massillon Recreation Center will be on your right.

• From Youngstown:

  • I-76 west through Akron to State Route 21 south. State Route 21 south approximately 14 miles to Massillon. Cherry Street is the second traffic light. Turn left on Cherry Street. The Massillon Recreation Center will be on your right.

• From Dover, New Philadelphia and Marietta:

  1. I-77 north to Canton and US 30 west. US 30 west to State Route 21 north. State Route 21 north through downtown Massillon to the third traffic light, which is Cherry Street. Turn right on Cherry Street. The Massillon Recreation Center will be on your right.

  2. State Route 21 north through Strasburg and Navarre to Massillon. Continue on State Route 21 north through downtown Massillon to the third traffic light, which is Cherry Street. Turn right on Cherry Street. The Massillon Recreation Center will be on your right.

Teams may enter Massillon Recreation Center tournaments by sending
an entry fee ($175), team 11 digit ID#, and team contact name,
phone, e-mail address and address and the coach’s name.

Thank you for your interest in our tournaments. Team rosters will
be downloaded from the OVR website the week of the tournament.

Please make sure your coach is IMPACT certified. A coaches’
meeting will be at 8:30 AM in the front lobby and will take place
prior to the start of the tournament. The tournament starts
promptly at 9:00 A.M. sharp. 

Pool play is the best of three sets with rally scoring. Each
non-deciding set will be to 25 points with a minimum two-point
advantage (no scoring cap.) The deciding set, if needed, will be
to 15 points with a minimum two point advantage (no scoring cap.)
All warm-ups will use the 2-4-4 format; 2-minutes shared court,
4-minutes Serving Team, 4-minutes Serve Receiving team. Teams may
request the referee to tell them when to serve, usually one
minute.

Teams will officiate according the above schedule for pool play.

Teams 1-4 (pool play winners and 2nd place teams) go to the gold
playoffs and teams 5-8 (third and fourth place teams) go to the
silver playoffs. The lowest seeded team in each division not
playing the first round of the playoffs will officiate the first
playoff match. Tournament play will be the best of three sets.
After the first round of the playoffs, all losing teams, before
leaving, must stay and officiate the next match. Awards are given
to the Winner & Runner-Up of the Gold Division.

Family members and coaches will receive wristbands to help
identify patrons within the facility. Teams will receive 35
wristbands to distribute. Only patrons wearing wristbands will be
allowed in the gym during the tournament.
If wristbands are lost, they may be replaced for $1.00 at the gym
entrance gate. 

Please note the doors of the Recreation Center will not be
unlocked until 8:00 AM. At Massillon Recreation Center, team camps
are only permitted in the upstairs Studio. No teams will be
allowed to camp out in the hallways during the tournament. The use
of any ball outside of the gymnasium is not permitted while inside
the building. Keep all coolers in cars. Coolers are prohibited in
and outside facilities hosting OVR-sanctioned events. Setting up
tables and/or cooking by teams or their support staff, fans,
coaches, or parents are prohibited at OVR-sanctioned events.
Concessions will be provided at the tournament site. A variety of
restaurants are within 1 mile of the Recreation Center. Area
restaurant maps are provided. 

Seating for spectators will be provided in the gymnasium. Only
those teams currently playing in a match are permitted on the
gymnasium floor. No personal chairs are permitted in the
gymnasium. Only water & Sports Drinks are permitted in the gym.

Team/Tournament Cancellation: Per OVR regulations; a team
canceling after the entry deadline, 14 days prior to the
tournament date, will forfeit its entry fee. A team canceling
prior to the entry deadline does not forfeit its full entry fee if
a replacement is found. A team canceling from this tournament to
enter a different tournament will forfeit its entry fee. 

If Stark County is under a Level 3 Emergency, the tournament will
be canceled. For any reason the tournament is canceled, a notice
will be displayed at the OVR Junior Tournament list. Club
directors and/or coaches and officials will be contacted (phone,
email) as soon as possible. Entry fees will be returned within a
timely manner after a cancellation.
