From 80/90:
Take the Ohio turnpike to exit 59. Get off the exit and go South, you will end up on Reynolds Rd. Take Reynolds Rd. south to Dussel Dr. (the first intersection). Turn left onto Dussel. Immediately after Cornerstone Church turn left onto Market Place Dr. Go down Market Place until you see the signs for volleyball parking. The Premier Volleyball Academy is located in the Maumee Sports Mall.
From 75 South:
Take 75 North to exit 192(I-475 North/US 23). Travel north towards Maumee/Ann Arbor for ~7.3 miles. Take the Maumee/Dussel Dr./Salisbury Rd. exit. Turn right(East) on Dussel Dr., continue down Dussel Dr. and cross Reynolds Rd. Immediately after Cornerstone Church turn left onto Market Place Dr. Go down Market Place until you see the signs for volleyball parking. The Premier Volleyball Academy is located in the Maumee Sports Mall.
From 475 North:
Take 475 to the Maumee/Dussel Rd exit. Turn left(East) on Dussel Road to Reynolds Rd. Continue down Dussel Dr. and cross Reynolds Rd. Immediately after Cornerstone Church turn left onto Market Place Dr. Go down Market Place until you see the signs for volleyball parking. Tournament Information
Entry fee is $350 US per team. Please write your entry fee check payable to: Premier Academy And mail to: Premier Academy 1630 Market Place Dr Maumee, OH 43537 Door opens at 7:15 AM. There is a coaches’ meeting for the 12s and 13 Pool A coaches only at 7:30 AM. Officials are requested to be present. We will NOT have a coaches meeting for the PM Wave coaches, instead, a list of court and facility rules will be on each score table. Please refer to it prior to your first match. The tournament starts at 8:00 AM. Pool play is the best of three sets with rally scoring. Each non-deciding set will be to 25 points with a minimum two-point advantage (no scoring cap.) The deciding set, if needed, will be to 15 points with a minimum two point advantage (no scoring cap.)All warm-ups will use the 2-4-4 format; 2-minutes shared court,4-minutes Serving Team, 4-minutes Serve Receiving team. Teams may request the referee to tell them when to serve, usually one minute. TOURNAMENT FORMAT An email with a spreadsheet of the tournament format was sent to coaches and club directors on Wednesday night. There are 10 teams in the 12s division, 10 teams in the 13s division and 12 teams in the 14s division. 12s and 13s divisions: Two 5-team pools (4 matches) on Saturday. They then have a cross-over match on Sunday morning. The match %, head to head, then set % after the cross-over match will determine final finish with the 5-team pool. They move into double elimination bracket play with a 6-team Gold bracket and a 4-team Silver bracket. Each team will receive 2 matches in bracket play. 14s division: Two 6-team pools (4 matches played out of the 5) on Saturday. The last pool match is played Sunday morning. They then move into bracket play, a 4-team Gold, 4-team Silver and 4-team Bronze bracket. Each team will receive 2 matches in bracket play. Teams will officiate according the above schedule for pool play. 1. During each team’s full-court warm-up segment, the opposing team may NOT practice with balls in the free zone surrounding the court. Teams must go to their team bench. USAV rulebook, page 26, 7.2.2B 2. We will be adhering to the procedures and penalties for support officials during pool play and tournament (Item 6.3) 3. Coaches and Player who are not complete with their registration will not be permitted to participate in OVR Sanctioned events. CAMPING Player’s bags and equipment are not allowed in the competition area nor will teams be allowed to camp in the competition area. We have shelves for the players bags. We do not have camping areas, so there is no need to bring pillows and blankets. NO OUTSIDE FOOD IS ALLOWED. - Individual portions are allowed in a player's bag. Keep all coolers in cars. Coolers are prohibited in and outside facilities hosting OVR-sanctioned events. Setting up tables and/or cooking by teams or their support staff, fans, coaches, or parents are prohibited at OVR-sanctioned events. This means NO TEAM BUFFETS. Team buffets will be confiscated if found. A Concession Stand with a variety of healthy foods is available at the tournament site. Seating is provided, no chairs will be allowed. Team/Tournament Cancellation: Per OVR regulations- a team canceling after the entry deadline will forfeit its entry fee. A team canceling prior to the entry deadline does not forfeit its full entry fee if a replacement is found. A team canceling from this tournament to enter a different tournament will forfeit its entry fee. If Lucas County is under a level 3 snow emergency, the tournament will be cancelled. For any reason the tournament is canceled, a notice will be displayed at the OVR Junior Tournament List. Club directors and/or coaches and officials will be contacted via email as soon as possible. Entry fees will be returned.
