This is our 6th annual Friendship Scrimmage and we’re excited to kick off another great year of Ohio Valley Region volleyball! Once again, the OVR will be using our event to train new officials for the upcoming season. This provides your team with an excellent opportunity to refresh your scorekeepers, line judges and second referees as there will be plenty of officials and trainers on site to lend their support.

There will be a coaches meeting at 8:00am, warm-ups will start at 8:15, and play will begin at 8:30am. Matching uniforms are not necessary, however, NUMBERED SHIRTS ARE REQUIRED! Because we will be training/refreshing officials and scorekeepers, numbers are important.

Event Format:

In this scrimmage, all teams should play 4 matches. Team in ( ) refs.

Matches will be one set to 25 points and then one set to 15 points. Because this is a scrimmage, there will be no playoffs or awards given. 

Tournament site info:

The doors of the playing site will open at 7:00 AM. Visiting team camps will be in the designated camping areas communicated the day of the event. Each team will be given ample camping space.  Keep all coolers in cars. Coolers are prohibited in and outside of facilities hosting OVR-sanctioned events. Setting up tables and/or cooking by teams or their support staff, fans, coaches, or parents is also prohibited at OVR-sanctioned events. A full concession stand with reasonable prices will be provided at the tournament site. We are excited to announce, along with the traditional menu, our concession stand will feature MJ Subs and sides for the 2024 season!

Seating:

We have balcony seating as well as limited space for court seating with personal camping chairs. No chairs will be permitted on the end lines or between the courts. Each team will have a designated box for seating which will be clearly marked. All spectators from the same team will be asked to sit together. This ensures all teams have equal opportunity to be represented with fans on the floor.

Team/Tournament cancellation:

Teams withdrawing after November 1st, 2023 are responsible for the full entry fee unless a replacement team is found.

If Coshocton County is under a level 3 Snow Emergency, the tournament will be canceled, and all entry fees will be refunded. Listen to WTNS FM 99.3 Coshocton (www.mywtnsradio.com) for details. Accommodations:

For those teams looking for overnight accommodations, Kids America recommends Renaissance on Main, a locally owned and operated Airbnb. For a traditional hotel experience, we recommend The Coshocton Village Inn and Suites. Please let them know you are coming in for a JO volleyball tournament and receive a discount off their regular rates.
