Tournament Information

Teams may enter Mount Union College: The MAAC tournaments by
sending an entry fee ($170), team 11 digit ID#, and team contact
name and address by January 15.

Enclose a check for $170 made payable to Raider Volleyball. Mail

Thank you for your interest in our tournaments. Team rosters will
be downloaded from the OVR website the week of the tournament.
Please make sure your coach is IMPACT certified. A coaches’
meeting at 8:30 AM at the playing site will take place prior to
the start of the tournament. The tournament starts at 9:00 A.M.
sharp. Pool play is the best of three sets with rally scoring.
Each non-deciding set will be to 25 points with a minimum
two-point advantage (no scoring cap.) The deciding set, if needed,
will be to 15 points with a minimum two point advantage (no
scoring cap.) All warm-ups will use the 2-4-4 format; 2-minutes
shared court, 4-minutes Serving Team, 4-minutes Serve Receiving
team. Teams may request the referee to tell them when to serve,
usually one minute.

Teams will officiate according the above schedule for pool play.


Teams 1-8 (pool play winners and 2nd place teams) go to the gold
playoffs, teams 10-12 (third place teams) go to the silver
playoffs and teams 13-16 (fourth place teams) go to the bronze
playoffs. The lowest seeded team in each division not playing the
first round of the playoffs will officiate the first playoff
match. Tournament play will be the best of three sets. After the
first round of the playoffs, all losing teams, before leaving,
must stay and officiate the next match. 

Please note, the doors of the playing site will not be unlocked
until 8:00 AM. At Mount Union College, team camps are only
permitted in the Commons area. No teams will be allowed to camp
out in the hallways. The use of any ball outside of the gymnasium
is not permitted while inside the building. 

Keep all coolers in cars. Coolers are prohibited in and outside
facilities hosting OVR-sanctioned events. Setting up tables and/or
cooking by teams or their support staff, fans, coaches, or parents
are prohibited at OVR-sanctioned events. A concession will be
provided at the tournament site.

Seating for spectators will not be provided in the gymnasium.
Therefore, parents will be permitted to bring in their own fold
out chairs.  Only those teams currently playing in a match are
permitted on the gymnasium floor. 

Tournament checks will be deposited January 15, 2009.

Team/Tournament Cancellation: Per OVR regulations- a team
canceling after the entry deadline, 14 days prior to the
tournament date, will forfeit its entry fee. A team canceling
prior to the entry deadline does not forfeit its full entry fee if
a replacement is found. A team canceling from this tournament to
enter a different tournament will forfeit its entry fee.

If Stark County is under a Level 3 Emergency, the tournament will
be cancelled. For any reason the tournament is cancelled, a notice
will be displayed at the OVR Junior Tournament list.  Club
directors and/or coaches and officials will be contacted (phone,
email) as soon as possible.  Entry fees will be returned within 3
days of the cancellation.
