Directions

• From Cleveland and other points west:

  • Take the Ohio Turnpike to Youngstown exit 15. Follow 80 East-Youngstown to 680 (Youngstown).
  • Take 680 to 4A-Route 422 (sign reads "193 to 422 New Castle").
  • Take 422 to Fifth Avenue/Belmont Exit.
  • Go straight through light past first stop sign to next light.
  • Turn right on Fifth Avenue and make an immediate left turn into the F-7 lot, which is located just north of Stambaugh Stadium.
     

• From Columbus and other points west:

  • Take 71 North to 76 East to 80 East New York bound. 80 East is just a few miles to 680 Youngstown.
  • Take 680 to 4A-Route 422 (sign reads "193 to 422 New Castle").
  • Take 422 to Fifth Avenue/Belmont Exit.
  • Go straight through light past first stop sign to next light.
  • Turn right on Fifth Avenue and make an immediate left turn into the F-7 lot, which is located just north of Stambaugh Stadium.
     

• From Pittsburgh and other points southeast:

  • Follow the Pennsylvania Turnpike to the Ohio Turnpike, Exit 16A.
  • Take 680 North (Youngstown) to Exit 6 (sign reads "Route 62 - Route 7 Hubbard").
  • Continue on expressway to Route 422 West (Warren).
  • Travel Route 422 for a short distance to the Fifth Avenue Exit.
  • At the light make a left turn, cross over the bridge, and you will see a football stadium on the left.
  • Make an immediate turn into the F-7 lot, which is located just north of Stambaugh Stadium.
     

• From points east (Pennsylvania and New York via I-80):

  • Follow 80 West to Route 193 Belmont Avenue Exit.
  • Turn left onto Belmont Avenue; travel six traffic lights (1.5 miles) to Gypsy Lane.
  • Turn left onto Gypsy Lane and continue to the third traffic light; turn right onto Fifth Avenue, traveling approximately 2 miles.
  • At the intersection of I-680 and Fifth Avenue, cross over the bridge.
  • Turn left into the F-7 lot, which is located just north of Stambaugh Stadium.
     

• If the F-7 lot is full, you can park across the street in the M-27 lot. If that is full, go past the stadium to the next light. To the right is the M-24 lot, where there will be plenty of spaces.

Tournament Information

The host hotel is the Comfort Inn, Austintown, OH Ask for the
special volleyball rate 330-792-9740 Teams may enter tournaments
by sending an entry fee ($170), team 11 digit ID#, and team
contact name and address by January 15. Tournament checks will be
deposited January 15, 2009.

Team rosters will be downloaded from the OVR website the week of
the tournament. Please make sure your coach is IMPACT certified
and all players and coaches have completed OVR membership. 

A coaches´ meeting at 8:30 AM at the playing site will take place
prior to the start of pool play. A team representative must be
present at the coaches' meeting. The tournament starts at 9:00
A.M. Pool play is the best of three sets with rally scoring. Each
non-deciding set will be to 25 points with a minimum two-point
advantage (no scoring cap.) The deciding set, if needed, will be
to 15 points with a minimum two point advantage (no scoring cap.)
All warm-ups will use the 2-4-4 format; 2- minutes shared court,
4-minutes Serving Team, 4-minutes Serve Receiving team. Teams may
request the referee to tell them when to serve, usually one
minute.

Teams will officiate according the above schedule for pool play. 

Teams 1-8 (all teams that finish first or second in their pool and
the 2 best third place pool finishers) go to the gold playoffs,
teams 9-12 (the last third place team plus al 4th place pool
finishers) go to the silver playoffs. The lowest seeded team in
each division not playing the first round of the playoffs will
officiate the first playoff match. Tournament play will be the
best of three sets. After the first round of the playoffs, all
losing teams, before leaving, must stay and officiate the next
match. Awards to the winning players and coaches of the champions
and runner-up teams in the gold playoffs. 

Please note, the doors of the playing site will not be unlocked
until 8:00 AM. Team camps are only permitted in the Commons area.
No teams will be allowed to camp out in the hallways or stage area
during the tournament. The use of any ball outside of the
gymnasium is not permitted while inside the building. 

Keep all coolers in cars. Coolers are prohibited in and outside
facilities hosting OVR-sanctioned events. Setting up tables and/or
cooking by teams or their support staff, fans, coaches, or parents
are prohibited at OVR- sanctioned events. A concession will be
provided at the tournament site. 

Seating for spectators will be provided in the gymnasium. Only
those teams currently playing in a match are permitted on the
gymnasium floor. 

Tournament Cancellation: If YSU is under a Level 3 Emergency, the
tournament will be cancelled. For any reason the tournament is
cancelled, a notice will be displayed at the OVR Junior Tournament
list. Club directors and/or coaches and officials will be
contacted (phone, email) as soon as possible. Entry fees will be
returned within 3 days of the cancellation.
