Ohio Valley Region: Advancing Volleyball in Ohio, western Pennsylvania, and West Virginia

Bulletin: USAV Implements National-Level Grant Program

The OVR piloted this program since 2007!

USA Volleyball (USAV) has implemented a joint grant program with the regional volleyball associations for the development of boys'/men's programs nationwide. To quote Jeff Mosher, USAV Collegiate and Scholastic Grant Administrator:

“The grants in Ohio have had additional funding and ‘value in kind’ support from your organization. We look forward to continued growth in Ohio.”

“USAV will oversee all paperwork, including applications and the collection of season reviews. USAV will allocate the funds from the RVAs and USAV. The grants are for $500 and are good for a single year. Teams can apply for grants each year but will not be awarded funding for more than 3 years. Schools will be in competition with all other schools applying for grants on a national basis.”

The OVR has been participating with USAV since 2007, piloting the development of the grant program. Jeff Mosher stated, “Your organization has been extremely helpful in supporting these grants – I understand that the grants in Ohio have had additional funding and ‘value in kind’ support from your organization. We look forward to continued growth in Ohio.”

The OVR has supported the development of 14 scholastic boys' programs since 2007. The combined effort of the OVR with the Ohio High School Boys' Volleyball Association and the Ohio Boys' Scholastic Volleyball Coaches Association will create many more quality volleyball experiences for the boys.
