OVR Board of Directors

Each year the OVR elects five candidates to the board of directors to serve a term of three years, non-compensatory. Candidates must be members of the region and acquire 25 signatures of currently registered adult members to qualify. In addition, aspiring board members should submit a profile stating the reasons they want to serve on the Board of Directors, how they feel they can help the region, and their relevant background. The deadline for submitting this information is March 31, 2008.

Board terms ending on May 31, 2008 include those of Art Faura, Terry Miller, Michelle Hills, Hank Trimble, and Bill Zehler.

Voting for the OVR Board of Directors

All OVR adult members are eligible to vote. Background information for all candidates will be published on the OVR Elections page (www.ovr.org/elections/) and posted at voting locations. Voting locations for 2008 are as follows:

• Ohio Valley Regional Volleyball Championships
  April 12-13, 2008, Greater Columbus Convention Center

• Ohio Valley Region Inc. Kaepa®-USA 2008 Girls' Volleyball Championships
  May 3-4, 10-11, and 17-18, 2008, Greater Columbus Convention Center

For those members unable to be present at our Championships, a mail-in ballot will be available. Mail-in ballots must be postmarked by May 19, 2008.

OVR Officers

Officer terms open for election in August 2008 include Adults' Tournament Director (replacing former, separate positions of Women's Tournament Director and Men's Tournament Director), Girls' Program Director, and Regional Referees' Chairperson. Officer positions are elected by the board of directors. Interested individuals should submit cover letters and resumes relevant to the positions for which they are applying. The deadline for applications for officer positions is June 30, 2008.

Those wishing to run for election and OVR office should submit all candidate materials to Emi Vishoot, OVR Elections Chairperson by e-mail (vishoot@ovr.org) or by US mail (PO Box 24142, Huber Heights, OH 45424).

The OVR board of directors will select individuals for these positions from among the qualified applicants at the August board meeting. The 4-year terms will begin at the August board meeting and conclude on August 31, 2012.
