Men's Seeding System
The following information from the Ohio Valley Region's 2005-2006 season is archived for reference and to help with planning for 2006-2007.
| Pool Play Points | Points |
| Pool play winning percentage (games won / total games played) | 0.00 - 1.00 |
| Tiebreaker Points (if applicable) | Points |
| Eliminated in first / only tiebreaker match | 0.25 |
| Eliminated in second tiebreaker match | 0.50 |
| Playoff Points | |
5 Points for each team making the Playoffs. A team then earns 2.5 pts for each additional round they win / advance in the Tournament Bracket. If a team has a bye in the first round of the playoffs they will earn the base 5 pts for making the playoff plus the 2.5 pts for their advancement to the second round. This system allows for teams that play in larger tournaments to get slightly more points for winning these tournaments verses playing in smaller single pool tournaments.
Seeding points for a division are based on tournament results in that division only. If a team plays in more than one division any points earned by that team stay in that division. Seeding for any tournament is based on your team's tournament seeding coefficient. A team's seeding coefficient is figured by taking the total points a team earns in that division and dividing that by the number of tournaments they have played in. The seeding coefficient is figured based on your best five finishes maximum, in that division.
