USA Volleyball: Ohio Valley Region
Men's Seeding System

The following policy was followed for the 1997-1998 season.

Points Pool Play Accomplishment
0.00 - 1.00 Pool play winning percentage (games won / total games played)
Points Tiebreaker Result (if applicable)
0.25 Eliminated in first/only tiebreaker match
0.50 Eliminated in second tiebreaker match
Points Playoffs Accomplishment
10.00 Winning tournament
7.50 Finishing second place
5.00 Eliminated in semi-final round
2.50 Eliminated in quarter-final round
1.00 Eliminated in "sweet 16" round

The most points a team can earn in a tournament will be 11 points (10 points for winning, 1 point for winning all games in pool play). This system will ensure teams finishing higher will earn more points than those finishing at a lower level. At the same time, it will allow a team with a better pool play record to have slightly more points than a team finishing at the same level with a worse pool play record.

Seeding points for a division will be based on tournament results in that division. For example, if a B team plays in a BB tournament, that team's BB points will remain in the BB seeding results. Seeding will be based on the best five finishes.
