Ohio Valley Region Coed Adults' Volleyball
Tournament Directors' Information
- We are hoping to run 12-15 events this fall. Hopefully we can run 4-5 events for each division (AA/A, A/BB & BB/B).
- If a tournament director would like to run two separate tournaments on the same day at the same venue, they must be AA/A and BB/B.
- Tournament directors can send Adam Evans dates that they would like to run events at evans@ovr.org immediately.
- The OVR will begin sanctioning coed tournaments on September 1, 2008.
- OVR score sheets will be used at coed events. This will allow both the tournament directors and Adam to track results for any future references/ needs as they arise.
- Entry fee will be $90.00 per team. Prizes will be awarded to the first and second place teams in the upper tier and the first place team in the lower tier. Prizes should have the following values:
- 1st place upper tier: ~$20.00/player
- 2nd place upper tier: ~$15.00/player
- 1st place lower tier: ~$10.00/player
- Tournaments for fund raisers can petition Adam for a higher entry fee on an as-needed basis.
- Even with gym rental fees; by not having to pay officials, tournament directors can still take in a nice amount of money and give out nice prizes.
- For example:
- 8 teams @ $90.00 = $720.00 income
- First place team upper tier w/8 players @ $20.00 per player = $160.00
- Second place team upper tier w/8 players @ 15.00 per player = $120.00
- First place team lower tier w/8 players @ 10.00 per player = $80.00
- $720.00 ($160.00 + $120.00 + $80.00) = $720.00 - $360.00 = $360.00

- Gift Certificates to restaurants (who just might help sponsor the tourney!)
- Gift Certificates to retail outlets (who also just might help sponsor the tourney!)
- Polo shirts
- Volleyballs from the OVR
- Beach/lawn chairs that people bring to tournaments
- Beach blankets or beach towels
- Gasoline coupons
